First guess would be a head gasket.
Does it run smooth or rough?
Does the hissing stop immediately when the engine stops, or continue for a few seconds?
Is it a hiss-hiss-hiss-hiss sound or a hisssssssssssssssssssss sound?

It is quite possible you have a leaking head gasket or intake manifold gasket... allowing both an oil leak and a pressure leak from the cooling system. The alternative may even be as severe as a cracked block. Get it checked before you drive too much farther!!

I have a 2000 daewoo nubira that won't start and it's leaking engine oil onto the ground

You need to determine where the oil is leaking from. Could be oil pan gasket or drain plug. Look for damage to the oil pan. The damage might be minor but bad enough that the pan won't seat tightly on the engine

Where is the oil filter? I just can not see it?

The oil filter is not so easy to locate. It is on the bottom right hand sode of the engine. You need to look down between the small gap between the drive belt and timing belt cover. You need to access it from under the engine near the right front wheel access is limited due to the plastic splach guard under the engine. This guard is usually held on by screws or bolts. Take it off and you should be able to get access to the filter.

Oil gushing from trans.??????? changed valve cover gasget oil pan gasket someone told me the rear main seal????? how can i b sure

If it in fact it is the main seal you should see tranny fluid leak at the point where the engine bolts to the transmission. With car in park and brake on, start engine and carefully look under to see where the fluid is coming from. If you see no fluid leakage, place the front end (this assumes front wheel drive only) on jacks stands and block the back wheels. Have a friend start the car and with their foot on the brake place the car in drive and SLOWLY remove their foot from the brake and allow the front tires to spin (DO NOT REV ENGINE) watch for leakage as wheels turn. If you see leakage at the engine/tranny mating surfaces then yes I expect it would be your main seal. I'd take avery good look at tranny cooling lines to and from the radiator, if these leak it is very heavy.

I hope this may have assited you,
Tom

Hi my nubira 2002 is loosing coolant all the time. There are no leaking under the car, the fans come on as it heats up, we have had the water pressurechecked and it is ok and as a precaution we changed the...

is it overheating? this will cause it to preasurise excessively, causing loss of steam through the preasure cap.

otherwise if there is definately no leakage externaly when preasure tested, then it is probably leaking internaly. some cars now have EGR (exhaust gas recurculation) coolers, where coolant cools the exhaust gasses . This can leak, letting coolant into the exhaust system as steam. The only other passage for coolant leakage internally is through a leaking head gasket, or worse still a cracked cylinder head. check your oil on the dipstick, if it is creamy coloured then coolant is leaking into the oil. A headgasket/cracked head may also leak coolant straight into the combustion chamber, the only way to check this is to test for hydrocarbons in the cooling system (specialist test kit)

If the heater matrix is leaking, you would probably notice the front carpets getting damp. .

Oil leakage and hissing under the car

Sounds like you have an air leak. Check all the air hoses on top of the engine to see if any are split. You have to prise the convoluted sections gently apart because thats wher teh usually spit. When you find the split, replace that section.
