it sounds like the heater switch itself is bad. I would change it.

Seat heater goes on by itself

You pretty much guaranteed have a bad switch for the heater, I'm afraid. If you don't want to buy an official replacement, a simple SPST or DPST toggle switch from Radio Shack would work.

Heater blower doesn't work at times.

check both sides of heater fuse for power,,if has power and heater doesnt come on,,,bad blower switch,,,if comes on and off,,either bad blower switch or loose wire to blower,,if you havent installed a radio or something and possibly damaged or loosened a wire more than likely,,bad switch.

How come heater fan wont blow

there are a few things that will cause this problem.
1. it could be the heater fan fuse
2. could be the heater fan motor itself
3, a bad switch or relay

check the fuse and then check for voltage at the heater motor itself, if you have voltage at the heater motor,, give the heater motor box a love tap with your hand and see if it starts to turn, if it does not turn or even if it does ( after tapping it ) - it is time to replace the heater motor.

The heater/ac blower only works on high

Mos likely the switch on the dash for the speed settings for the blower motor has gone out. You can check this by using a test light and checking each connection coming out of the switch. If you have fire coming from all the terminals then the blower itself could be bad.

2001 Volvo Fan - Unrealiable

Most likely the heater motor. To check tap the heater motor with it switched on if it starts blowing then thats the problem. to fix it's best to replace it I have tried to fix them and will work again until the next bump then they stopped again. It could also be a bad connection but this is unlikely as it won't come on at any setting. Cheers

Lack of heat

switching the hoses is not recommended for trying to clear out a heater core because the coolant is meant to flow in one direction. you can try disconnecting the hoses from the heater core and flushing the core itself with a garden hose with low pressure in one direction for a few minutes and then switch and backflush the heater core. this is ok as long as the heater core is isolated from the engine cooling system. BUT if it is rusted pretty badly there is a chance it can develop a leak or blow out during the process so try it cautiously!! if the core is in-fact blocked you will have very little flow through the core and you will see what looks like rust coming out of the core, it may take quite a few times switching back and forth to clear it out. if it still remains blocked or if it starts leaking inside the car it will need to be replaced.

Blower vents on 86 regal

The blend door in the heater box itself is what directs the air to where it needs to go as per selector switch. The heater box is located under the dash.
