Check sending unit in tank. My newer Envoy (2005) did the same thing. Unfortunately, they have to drop the tank to replace it and it considerable labor $$ to R&R.

incorrectly and half assed installed. putting a fuel pump in a chevy is very difficult and takes patients. most mechanics dont have that so go to another shop and make sure they fix the problem before you pay.

2000 chevy blazer fuel gauge dont work

I have repaired many of these vehicles. Usually it is the sender inside of the fuel tank that fails it is very common on the blazers. very rarely have I seen it be the gauge in the dash itself on this vehicle. Unfortunately the sender is located inside of the fuel tank. the tank will have to be removed to replace the unit

2000 blazer , every once in a while it wont start... let sit sometimes 30 minutes sometimes 2 days and it starts. Put external fuel pressure gauge on... B4, when key on... gauge shows over 60 lbs. when it...

Hi:
The fuel pumps on the Chevy blazer and their full sized trucks are prone to failing, as I had to change mine on my 1996, and yours is the same model .
Ours started off intermittently dieing, then failed all together. If you have matched up the fact that you have no fuel pressure when your blazer won't start, then the fuel pump is the most likely suspect. As you know, they are not cheap, and the fuel tank is not difficult to remove, but needs to be close to empty to make the job managable. The tank is over 3 feet long, and is better removed with 2 people if you can find help.

did you recently change the fuel pump? If so you needed to change the wire harness thats attached to the fuel pump, then if not, your floater need to be replaced inside your fuel tank.
How do I know? from experience.

Chevy Blazer won't start; fuel pump needs replacing

Before spending several hundres on a fuel pump, I recommend doing a fuel pressure test. You can get a test gauge pretty cheap at a parts store. If the pump is junk, you raise the truck, lower the fuel tank, unplug the electronics from the pump at the top of the tank, then with a hammer and flat head scrwedrive, gently tap the lock ring in a counter clockwise direction until it pops off. Pull the pump assembly out and install the new one. Reverse directions to install.

check the fuel filter or your fuel flow with a fuel pressure gauge, if you do not have enough flow it may seem to want to stall out
