I need to switch out the door and I find that there is a harness of wires and I don't see a detachable plug in order to reconnect wiring controls for windows, locks, and mirror....from the replacement door to my existing control wiring...Do I need to switch out internal mechanism as well...D.K?

Does it matter the year or make/model of the replacement door?
Are all the harnesses similar enough to connect power within '94-'97-years and/or Dodge Ram make/model 1500--3500?

Find the wiring harness under the dash that goes to the door, and use barrel type splicers to reconnect the wires. First compare the wire colors to be sure they match.

You'll have to write down the number and color of wires, and compare it to the harness of the replacement door

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500, the passenger window switches don't work

Not uncommon, the master window switch on the driver's door goes wonky. Mine had same problem (2003 1500 4.7L long cab) and simply replacing the master switch fixed both bad passenger switch intermittent problems. Easy swap, cheap at the dealer.

All controls through the drivers side front control dont work. How can I get the window closed ?

If NONE of the windows work, you will have to scan your Body Control Module (BCM) for fault codes to determine what is causing the problem because your windows are controlled by the BCM.

If the driver's window works, but the others don't, check your window "lockout" switch on the drivers master switch to make sure you don't have the other windows locked out. Simply push the switch and try your windows again. If this does not work to get them working, then you will have to scan your BCM as above.

How to replace Inside Rear View Mirror on 2000

Hello, to replace the rear mirror, try the following:

1. Roll the passenger side door window all the way down. Turn off the ignition and remove the keys.

2. Gently pry the window control panel from the arm rest with the pry tool or screwdriver starting at the bottom of the panel. Flip it over and unplug all the wire harness outlets from it. Set the panel aside.

3. Locate and remove the two panel door plugs near the arm rest concealing the two screws and remove the screws with the Phillips head screwdriver.

4. Remove the door panel retainer plugs along the edge of the door by pressing in the middle of the plug to unlock it and removing the plug.

5. Detach the mounting triangle from the upper inside door panel covering the side-view mirror.

6. Remove the door panel by lifting outward and then upward. Disconnect the speaker wire harness from the underside of the door panel and set the door panel aside.

7. Locate and disconnect the mirror wire harness.

8. Pull back the foam insulation from the inside panel covering the side-view mirror.

9. Unscrew the three mounting nuts from the mirror using the ratchet, extension and a socket. Do not drop the nuts into the door cavity.

10. Pry the mirror gently away from the outside of the door.

11. Install the new mirror and replace the mounting nuts on the mirror studs and tighten with the ratchet, socket, and extension. Plug the mirror wire harness back in. Replace the foam insulation. Replace the mounting triangle.

12. Replace the door panel by reversing the procedure. Start by plugging in the speaker wire first.

  14. Disconnect the wiring from the windshield wiper intermittent control module and, if equipped, the wiring from the low oil level relay. Both are located to the right of the steering column.
  15. Disconnect the radio antenna lead-in cable at the right cowl side panel.
  16. Disconnect the heater temperature cable. If equipped, detach the vacuum hose harness connector.
  17. Remove the five screws attaching the top of the instrument panel to the cowl side top panel.
  18. Remove the one nut attaching the lower right side of the instrument panel to the cowl side panel.
  19. Remove the two rearward nuts, then loosen the two forward nuts located to the right of the steering column, attaching the instrument panel to the center mounting bracket.
The following removal steps require the help of an assistant.
  1. Support the instrument panel. Remove the three bolts and one nut attaching the instrument panel to the left cowl side panel.
  2. Carefully pull the instrument panel rearward, then disconnect any remaining wires or other components.
  3. Carefully remove the instrument panel through the left front door.

Wiring problem on driver's side door

Are you asking how to fix this? or where to get the part that you need too fix it? If you need the wiring harness plug, you should be able to get it from any local junkyard, just tell them what kind of car and which door. If you need a new switch also they should have that too. Now if you are asking how to install the new wire harness plug then all you have to do is take off the door panel and unhook the plug going to the switch. The switch will pop up out of the armrest if you need to replace it. To fix the wiring just match the colors of the wire harness plug that you got from the junkyard to the wiring harness attached to the switch. You will just have to splice them together and then use electrical tape to wrap them separately. The colors and number of wires should be an exact match if not then you most likely do not have the right plug. This should FixYa :) Hope it helps and dont forget if it still does not work after you change the plug, it could be the window motor or the fuse. None of the windows will work if it is the fuse.
