Check the bulbs then check power to the bulb contacts .as it can be a break in the wire were the trunk/boot opens up.

Check also if brake light switch activated with brake pedal is working. Measure voltage at its terminals to be 12V. If not check for any fuse blown or loose fuse holder case or ground.

1978 Jeep CJ5. When brakes are applied interior, side marker, and park/running lights all come on. Where is the problem?

There is a short or badly installed light bulb in the rear brake light housing. Those bulbs use both running lights and brake light filaments and if a filament shorts to the other filament or they are installed wrong, pressing the brake pedal energizes the brake light and inturn the running lights.

The marker lights, brake lights, dash lights, power windows, power locks, radio and heater dont work

When you release the brake pedal, there is a switch underneath the brake pedal that disconnects the circuit to your brake lights causing your brake lights to switch off. Sometimes this brake light switch will go bad and need replacement. If your brake light stays on after you turn your car or truck off and you don't want to run your battery down, you may be able to get down underneath the brake pedal and manually pull up on the brake light switch to deactivate it until you can get it repaired.
and i think you can make a diagnostic by yourself and the Autel MaxiDAS DS708 can help you

When i turn of headlight the parking and tail light remain on

The combination switch has a separate parking switch you can turn on and off to keep the marker and clearance lights on with the headlights off

The stop lamp that turns off when the brake pedal is pressed has been jammed into the socket backwards (it happens!) or the black ground wire is disconnected or broken

1993 Honda accord EX no brake lights

This sounds like Brake Light Switch, can be found at any local parts store, for under $15 and easy enough to replace. The switch is located under the brake pedal and depresses when you hit the brakes, causing the brake lights to turn on. Replacing this is cheap and easy.

2004 ford focus brake lights on when side lights on

This problem sounds like a short in the lighting system. Since the side lights get brighter when you press the brake pedal, you have power crossing from the brake wire to the marker wire. Try removing the left rear brake bulb and se if the problem continues. If it does, reinstall the left bulb and try removing the brake bulb on the other side and see if that fixes the problem. If the problem persists examin the wires closely for broken insulation.

1991 Honda Civic DX.The rear tail lights are staying on and no brake lights. The front lights work fine (marker/head) off the switch All fuses are good. ????

Herbie, sorry by my English. It is very simple to solve :):) of course after I breaking my head. That's the explanation and solution:
1 - When we pressing the brake pedals in our mind it looks we are pressing a switch which cut the "contact". In really is the opposite! Everytime we pressing the pedal we are realeasing (or making free) a light switch and making contact. It means everytime you do not pressing the pedal the pedal is cutting the light contact.
2 - Go down the steering whell area and look the brake pedal. You will see that there is and bolt/nut threated at brake pedal stopper. Look the brake pedal and you will se there is an empty hole. On that hole should to be a white plastic peace which looks like an arrow. That peace it has to be assembled for behind the pedal and the "arrow" may be touching the bolt/nut.
3 - The reason why you light it stay on is because the lack of the white peace it makes de metal do not touching the bolt/nut area. This gap it turns the lights on.
I only found the peace at Honda Dealer and is cheap if you considering the problem but it is expensive if you considering how simple and small it is.
Hope this can help and solve your problem.

No parking front or rear, side markers, brake or dash lights.

Sounds like an earth / ground wiring problem at the rear lighting units, when the flashers are on and you press the brake pedal the power is back earthing through the flashers. Check all earth/ground points at the rear lights.....Good luck hope this helps

You have a bad ground somwhere. You need to check and look for broken wires or corroded connections. A good manual with a wiring diagram helps with this.
