Does it go away if so hyd. lifters.Try running a thicker oil.Keeps making noise stop until a mechanic listens to it.

Check under the hood and inspect the valve cover gasket. If it's bad it would explain why you don't see any leaks on the ground because it's probably burning off on the manifold. This ticking you're hearing is a lack of lubrication to the rocker arms. Apart from the valve cover gasket, you should get under the car and inspect the oil pan and oil filter for seepage. sounds by your explaination you have a cam shaft problem oil pressure is built through the cam sorry this could be costly have it checked as fast as possable.hope this was helpful

Just took my car to the shop for the same appearent reason me also thinking it may be lifters. My mechanic said it spounds like a worn wrist pin ...... bad news for you if this is the case .......recomendations rebuild the engine or buy a new or remanufactured one. if the wrist pin lets go then you could throw a rod. If you must drive the car please be gentle
