I have a 1995 Eagle Summit AWD Wagon, Automatic, 2.4 L engine with 150,000 miles on it. I am the second owner (got the car in 2004 with 104,000 miles) and the car had and has been well maintained throughout it's life. It has been an excellent car for me, especially out here in CO...it is super in the snow with the AWD and because it sits so high. I have had very, very few problems with the car. Other than the routine stuff (filters, plugs, wiper blades, etc), the only major repair cost was the replacement of the timing belt and water pump at 140,000 miles. The recommendation is that the timing belt be replaced at 90,000 (I believe), so I was way over. I had it done at that time because the water pump was leaking and it is easier to do both items together. The cost was around $700. Brakes and rotors were replaced by me at 140,000 miles. The rotors had a lot of rust on them since the car was originally from MD. The rust caused an intemittent grinding noise occasionally (rust would flake off and get between the pads), but was more of an annoyance than anything else. New rotors solved this minor problem. Cost for me to do all 4 wheels was around $120.
Since the car now has 150,000 miles, it is developing a few minor things. The emergency brake light sometimes stays on even though the brake is released. I assume it is a sticky switch but I just don't want to remove the console to fix it. Also, the driver side door lock does not work when I hit "lock all doors." So I have to lock it manually. Yeah, major problems, right?
The bottom line is this car has been fantastic for me. It has always been garage kept, so the paint is in great shape, and the interior is like new...no dash or plastic cracks. I am looking for another one right now, but they are rare in CO. The Mitsubishi engine is still running strong with absolutely no leaks at oil and it is not buring any oil. It is very rare to have to top up the oil between changes. The transmission still shifts smoothly. And like I mentioned, the AWD is incredible in the snow. I wish they still made this car!!!

To replace the right headlight bulb, unbolt the battery hold downs,take off the the positive and negative battery cables, now, lift the battery out of the way. The bulb is held in by a plastic ring. Unscrew the ring (1/3 turn) and wiggle the bulb out of the headlight housing. Now you can get a good enough grip on the bulb to separate it from the three wire plug attaching it to the harness. Take your new bulb out of the package and carefully place it into the headlight housing (BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE BULB WITH YOUR FINGERS). This will shorten the life of the bulb . Clean it off with a clean drying alcohol. Take the plastic ring and use it to secure the bulb in the headlight housing. Now plug the harness onto the bulb and test that the bulb is working properly (use jumper cables from the battery to the cables. If all is working correctly reinstall the battery in reverse order.
