Happened to my 99 Jeep Cherokee and I had to get a new window regulator.  Ended up getting it from an online junkyard and cost me $75.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if I can help with anything else.  Thanks for a hanest rating and for using FixYa!

The problem is the cable is broke but you will need to replace the window regulator, the regulator comes complete with all cables and brackets, if it was off the track you would not be able to pull the window up and down and also the window would not go up the correct way it would not shut good, here a picture of the regulator, i'm not sure what kind of car or the year but they look the same, hope this helps you good luck.d9e40c5.jpg

Power windows are not going up or down, one slides down on its own, one motor runs, but the window does not go up or down. the other motor dose not.

It sounds like both window regulators are bad. The window regulator in your car uses a cable and pulley setup. Often times the cable snaps or gets tangled in one of the pulleys causing the window to get stuck in the open or closed position. In the case of the cable snapping the window would be able to be moved up or down by hand. This can be confirmed by removing the door panel and moisture barrier and visually inspecting the regulator.

Lost all power. locks windows radio key ****. battery good.

Sounds like a master fuse, or a fusible link.

Using a volt meter with one end grounded, start at the positive post of the battery. Touch the probe there. Good power? try the clamp. Good power, try the other end of the positive battery cable.

Keep moving down the wiring away from the battery until there is not good power. Whatever device or connection you moved past when you no longer found good power is the culprit.

Power window the cable disconected. do you have any pic's on what it looks like?

are u talking about window regulator cables that the motor uses to roll the window up and down? because the window regulator dose not have serviceable parts in it. the cable will come unwound and it looks as if a person could rewind it. but u cant. you must replace the assembly

My rear window is stuck down in my 1989 k5 blazer.

If you can hear the motor turning but window is not moving, then the window most likely came off it's track. You will have to remove screws and pry off the door panel and replace window on track

You will find a loose or corroded ground some where possibly the battery or maybe the connection to the block.
