1992 f250 with 7.3l diesel that shuts off in curve

I have a 1992 f250 with the 7.3l diesel with 235,000 miles on it. Every time I go into a curve with an 1/8th of a tank of fuel or less, it will shut off and is difficult to restart, it does this with both tanks. any suggestions?

This exact thing has started on my 92 F250 with 133,000 on the 7.3. Ford dealership couldn't figure it out. I junw its not the gauge because I can drive at a constant speed on a straight rd till it hits bottom. Only happens when I stop take off or in a curve.

Well you can extend the pick-up tube by fabricating a hose with perfaration to lay flat on tank so its always submerrg'd. Shouldnt be to bad to do...just reqiures droping tanks....Other than that try your best to keep 1/4 tank minimum....but obviously the pick up tube on the bottom of the fuel pumps sending unit is up to high., and when you take the turn the pump, pumps like normal but gets air/fuel mixture and causes the stall due to enriched o2 levels...No way around it either...

Good luck hope this fix's'ya!

The gauge might be wrong. Try unplugging the tank the selector switch is set for and see if the gauge goes below 1/8 of a tank.

If the tubes were too short, wouldn't it have done it from day 1 when the truck was new or did someone change sending units or tanks. Also did they do exactly the same thing to both tanks? I would at least check the gauge first. It is the only thing that would make both tanks do exactly the same thing.

Mine does the same on both tanks but at about 3/8 tank

Need to know what antifreeze to use in 2002 Lincoln Continental?

Dexcool, a 50/50 mix, is very good for aluminum engines and can be left in for 100,000 miles. I use in in a Lincoln that has 235,000 miles.

80s cruiser L/H side of my engine it looks like diesel leaking

i am willing to bet it is coolant. over time you have to change your intake gaskets. because they will start to leak. now on the newer chevys this is very common to have to replace the intake gaskets every 60,000-100,000 miles. now if the cruser runs very good becides the leak i would definently replace the gasket and keep on driving the old girl. i hope this information was usefull to you and please rate my solution.
Thank you
