Check the condition of the oil and if it is not bright cherry red then have it changed. Run fault codes to determine if electronic and have a pressure test done to determine if mechanical.. However if it is slow to accelerate then check for low pressure in tyres and that the hand brake is not stuck on

Got a 2001 bmw 2.5 auto its got no reverse when I put it in it don't move.i know this is going to cost a lot of money

You can take it to a transmission shop and ask them to adjust the bands, but more than likely they will charge a small fortune and want to rebuild the transmission. Only other option is to try and get a good transmission from a wrecked car and swap the tranny's out.

When the 93'(6cyl)jeep is in drive it won't move unless I give it a lot of gas but if I put it in reverse it moves by itself w/out me adding any gas. In drive mode it seems like I'm driving w/the break on,...

It sounds like you have lost first gear in your transmission. I have a 93 Grand Cherokee and recently suffered the same problem. The problem is most likely in the transmission valve body. You should stop driving the vehicle immediately to prevent doing more damage to the rest of the transmission. Sounds like you will most likely need a rebuild

BMW 320i trouble in moving the car in D

Start with replacing transmission fluid. They do recommednd Dextron III but usually syntetic oil 5w-30 does this job very well. But grinding sound maybe the sign of transmission problem
You can take it to a qualified shop (I dont know there you are), and had them run the codes for the transmission (OBD I)

Transmission program light

Sounds like the transmission tourgue converter lock up is engageing.....I solved this for a buddy of mine However you are going to need the assistance of a computer and the BMW interface device. (you can buy on E-Bay if you plan on keeping a BMW around then it's a good investment) using this device and your laptop you need to clear the code that is being stored in the computer. actually you should read the code first. If you wish to try it the "Poor man's way take off the battery Neg lead for 10-15 min then put back on and see if your error comes back. If so then go and get the code reader or go to someone who has one to read the code.....

Good Luck
