Question about 2003 Pontiac Montana

2005 Montana SV6 right front turn signal not working correctly

Right front turn signal starts blinking very fast. I can replace the bulb and it may work correctly for several months or in one case a couple of hours. The right front was hit a couple of years ago and the dealer did the repair work. To complicate the issue the left front will also blink very fast at times but will sometimes work correctly. The right does not go back and forth - once it starts the fast blinking it stays that way.

Might try to replace the turnsignal relay which is under the dash i belive, it is round and looks like a very small container about 1inchx1inch...If you replace that and it does the same thing you have a short in the wiring harnes that leaders from the blinkers to the actuatore, or a bad ground, start by chasing the ground and making sure they are all tightly secures with no bare wire/ or pinched wires anywhere..
Hope this fix's'ya!

When its blinking fast look at both front and rear to verify which bulb isnt flashing. If the right works OK, then the flasher is OK. The flasher is INSIDE the front control module/integrated power module. If you cant find the problem, you may need a dealer to check it.

How do you get access to change the front right turn signal bulb on a 2005 pontiac montana SV6?

Open the hood. If you cannot gain access, the grill of the vehical will have to be removed. This will give you access to the bulb.

Replace front right turn signal bulb

I replaced the front right turn signal on my 2005 Pontiac Montana by reaching up from underneath. I tried removing the battery but the opening from above was too small. I was able to pull the ground effects open enough to get my arm in. When you reach the bulb holder feel for two wings on the bulb socket and give the whole socket a quarter turn to and it will release. The wires are long enough so the entire bulb holder will drop down below the vehicle so you can easily replace the bulb.
Reverse the step to put it back in. You will not be able to see what you are doing so I had someone guide me by watching from above. Took less than 10 minutes once I decided to change the bulb from the bottom. I did not need to jack the vehicle up or use ramps.

Right turn signal blinks fast when brake is on.

You have a bulb out somewhere could be front or back, but that is usually why it blinks faster.

Real right turn signal light - Pontiac Montana SV6 2005

If the 2005 Montana is similar to the 2001 Montana, I have a solution. First you'll need a hexagonal wrench (the 6-sided L-shaped wrench). The tail light assembly is held on by two screws. You'll need the hexagonal wrench to remove them, because a normal screwdriver won't do it. I also had to use a conventional adjustable wrench to get the leverage to turn the hexagonal wrench, because the screws were in there pretty tight. Once you remove the two screws, the whole tail light assembly should come off. Mine required a little force and I had to play with it a bit, but it came off without a lot of work. There will be one set of wires that connects the tail light assembly to the rest of the minivan--try not to damage that set of wires. Once you get the tail light assembly off, you'll have to take apart the assembly that actually holds the lights. No tools should be required. It's held on by four plastic catches. Just undo the catches (easier said than done, but still not too tough) and it comes apart. Then you can pop out the old light and pop in the new light. Then re-assemble. For me, it went back together much easier than it came apart.
