1977 case backhoe 480c hard to start cold does it have glow plugs ect.

No...If it is a 4BT 3.9 I don't know why you would want to.
cold start is hard sometimes but after they usually pop right off.
But yea, you could rig up a 5.9 B grid heater and solenoids with a push button.
A afternoon........ and a 12 pack waiting.

Still looking for what case backhoe has for ohm range on fuel sending unit. case 580 sl series 2 empty to full

Click on the link, I can only talk to you in automotive terms. I know nothing about a backhoe. The sending unit has to have voltage, correct? Get a resistor for empty and one for full, If the gage acts proper to the resistors, the problem is the sending unit.
If that isn't the answer you wanted, sorry, that's all I got.

Case 580 super l backhoe alternator won't charge although alternator repair shop said it is ok

not charging can be the regulator not working, broken charge circuit wires
take it to an accredited auto electrical shop and have the out put voltage tested for dc voltage , not ac voltage
may have blown a diode in the rectifier on installation

On a case 580k 4x4 backhoe is 4th gear set up different then 1st 2nd 3rd tractor won't move in lower gears made no noises or grinding .

Hi Bill:
I'd check with my local Case dealer. We have several pieces of Case equipment with hydostatic drives.
If I remember correctly, high gear on a standard transmission is a 1:1 ratio in that the power is on a straight through shaft.
My suspicion would be that a shifter link ay have become dis-connected.
Here's a link that may assist.

What could be the problem with a Case 580b that is getting coolant in the oil pan?

Check your crankcase oil - if it looks like Jergens Lotion, you probably have a blown headgasket that has failed between oil and coolant channels.
