Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Acura troubleshooting The care has a 1.7 litre V-Tec engine, when I hit 3000 rpm, there is a whirring/ticking sound. This sound also occurs when I accelerate while the car is still warming up. What could the issues be?

SOURCE: ticking noise

A small exhaust leak can sound like a ticking noise during acceleration and can get better or worse as the system heats up. I had a similar problem when the engine was cold that was solved with a new exhaust manifold gasket.

SOURCE: Vw polo maintains engine revs when foot is off the accelerator.

You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.

SOURCE: Jaguar x type 2004 2.5 petrol V6, 38500 miles, codes P0171, P0174

Have exactly the same issue on 04 jag x type 2.5. So far have replaced fuel filter, air filter k&n, plugs ngk. Codes cleared, same issue. Seems to appear when air temp is cold and eng is warm.
Am replacing upstream O2 sensors and cleaning MAF next. Will keep you posted if it clears up. Did you ever find the cause?

What is the firing order for 2007 suzuki forenza sedan 2.0 litre

Redux (firing order is 1,3,4,2 but forget that)
it's not a Suzuki J20a
nor a suzuki J20b
so what is it? , it's the GM D-tec 2.0L
its not suzuki engine, (first fact) if in USA.

see photo.
it can only be wired 2 ways, guessing

the only question is which end is #1
sorry i dont know. (no FSM for it )
if you cross 1 and 4 it will run , due to wasted spark
same with 2 and 3.
the ECU fires them not 1,3,4,2
it fires the 1 then 4, repeat see?
firing coil one fires 4 too. they are wired in series. see?
when i find #1 lug, ill post it to all d-tec pages. here.

I have a stock '02 RSX-S with 93K miles.I recently started hearing a ticking sound coming from the engine while accelerating at low rpm's in any gear (i can hear it at higher rpm's too, but at that point...

Sounds like an Exhaust Manifold leak on only one cylinder. The Gasket is probably blown out. Check around where manifold is bolted to the engine. Any leaks are usually evident by a black sooty deposit.

Grinding/whirring noise from A/C above 3000 rpm

your air compressor pump is going. My car is actually currently doing the same exact thing. It will eventually lock up. BUT if you're lucky, you may just be low on R-13a (coolant)

My Acura TL 1999 is showing check engine light, P1259

Check the oil level on level ground.

V-TEC valve open at the pre-set RPM is total depend on the oil to opening the third valve.

If the pressure is not at the right level then the lifting will not be completed.

The lift sensor will trigger P1259 to warn the driver for V-TEC malfunction

Engine ticking

Yeah its a hydrolic lifter or the big end bearing (hopefully the hydrolic lifter as its much cheaper to fix) does the ticking go away after 5,000 rpm?

Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?
