Question about SsangYong Rexton
Engine turns over but will not start. There is an orange warning light on, a picture of a car with a key in it
Sounds like the anti theft system/ immobilizer. Try cleaning out the ignition tumbler by squirting carb or engine or brake or electric cleaner into the key hole.

Don't Guess get to meaning of the codes that are on your computer. Go to an Auto-Zone and they will put your car on a code scanner for FREE.. Then you would know why exactly the light is on. You can then contact me if you need more help. Good Luck

There is a problem with the electronics on your vehicle. Your vehicle is sluggish because it has gone into limp mode. This allows the vehicle to run, but run poorly so you can get it somewhere to be fixed. I'm sorry but I don't have a code book for Fords. But, you can call a Ford dealership and ask for the service department and have them look up the code by number and they can tell you the definition of the code. But, it can relate to many different systems linked to your problem. Electronic parts are very expensive and if you just guess at them it could be costly.
Keep in mind if you buy a part that is electronic and it does not solve the problem they will not allow you to return it. Hope this gives you some guidance to your dilemma.

The key is tied to the computer which controls the engine. Apparently the key you are using needs to be reprogrammed to the computer. The dealer can do this for you.
