The motor goes bad because leaves and such make their way down and clog it's air intake. Pick up a new one at your local auto parts store if you have to.

It's four screws on the motor housing, located under the glove box (2 screws) and the wiring is harnessed, so no sweat there.

While it's off, reach up into the cavity that feeds it air on the upper left.

You may want to wear a glove. The design on this generation Rodeo is horribly flawed. I pulled a squirrel-sized wad of rotten leaves and pine needles from mine after replacing the motor and resistor twice.

Like drinking a milkshake through a coffee stirrer, you know that's bad for a motor. I clean mine out every fall, before running the heat non-stop all winter.

Unhook the battery find the blower motor unhook the power connection wire it will be a male female type connector most likely unhook it and remove the bolts securing the blower motor to the housing it should pull out with minor effort it will probably seem to have glue but it will be a gasket usually made of foam that sticks to it. If the foam is badly damaged find some simular foam at the hardware store reinstall reverse of removal.

There are two parts to the heating unit that control the air.
1. the blend door, this moves when you change from hot to cold.
2. The selector changes where the air comes from. This is what the problem is in your case. Look at the plenum (area under the dash that has the motor and levers connected to and see if one of them moves when you change modes. Sometimes the selector lever will move but the actual door inside the plenum is broken off.

Removing actuator from 05 cavalier

AC Actuator ?
The temperature control regulates the HVAC system air temperature in any mode. A temperature control cable mechanically links the temperature control to the temperature door. Your hearing stuff inside the blower motor housing , like leafs or someother de·bris .

Because your vehicle has no electric actuator .
Disconnect the electrical connections from the blower motor.
Remove the blower motor retaining heat stakes with a chisel or a screwdriver.

C-19 Blower motor fuse 25A located in cabin fuse box. Left hand footwell on LHD vehicles, right hand dashboard on RHD vehicles.
Start by checking blower relay B-36 in the engine compartment fuse and relay box. Remove the relay. Jumper directly from battery to pins 85 and 86. (also see here: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5544622-wire_relay if you dont know about relays) The relay should click Now measure across pins 30 and 87. Measurement should be 0 ohm.
Remove the blower motor(3 screws on the bottom of the unit under the passenger side dash) and connect jumper leads from the battery directly to the blower motor to see that it operates.
The blower motor resister is mounted on the ducting between the motor housing and the heating unit. Remove to test

AC BLOWER NOT BLOWING

The resistor that controls the blower motor. it is a small gadget that has a 2 or 3 wire plug . Replacing the resistor should fix your problem. It is on or near the blower motor. Under the dash. Not easy to remove . But it can be. Please give thumbs up if helped.
