My kia spectra 2009 die on the highway and wont start now

The 1.6L (and others) size engines have an "Interference Engine". If the timing belt breaks, severe engine damage results in pistons crushing valves. The timing belt MUST be replaced at regular intervals as outlined in your manual. Did you replace the timing belt in time?

Does a kia rio 56 diesel 1500 have a timing belt or chain, and when would it need replacing?

I have a 1.5 CRDi which uses the Mercedes engine and has a cam chain not a belt
Check the owners manual the chain doesnt need replacing on any of the service intervals it only requires checking and retentioning

What is the mileage of the timing belt.

The timing belt should be changed around 100,000 miles. I hope this is what you are asking.

Timing belt broke are the valves bent? driving it at the time it broke

Yes this is and interference engine and will be damaged if you were driving when the belt broke more than likely.

I want to change the timing belt on my 2003 Kia Rio Cinco but I can't find any info. I hate to start the project without some basic guidelines from someone that has done the job. I'm an experienced auto...

If it is the single overhead cam engine,it's pretty straight forward-Crank-tensioner- cam.The tensioner is a simple slide-to-tension type. You will need to take off the top engine mount for access(i just supported the engine with a jack)If it's a twin cam?Sorry don't know as mine is single cam.(obviously all air con belts, altenator belt etc have to be removed first)

Where is the Timing Belt on a 2003 Kia Rio exactly???

If you are planning on replacing the timing belt and are not even sure where to find on the engine then please DONT attempt to replace it on your own. Replacing the timing belt requires knowledge of timing marks and tensioner adjustments. It does not simply come off and back on, it has to be aligned up properly with marks on the camshaft and crankshafts. Please leaave this to someone who knows! PS: the timing belt is located behind the plastic covers on the left hand side of the engine (looking from the front)
