Question about Cars & Trucks
I have to manually pump the diesel to get it started but still takes a lot of cranking before she comes to life.
Pumping the diesel will not do anything as there is no pump on the accelerator. Diesels always start at full throttle and when they start the governor takes over and brings the engine back to idle rpm. If the diesel is hard to start then there is an indication that the GLO- plugs are not working. Check out their operation and check out the relay that turns them on. They are small heater elements that are in the cylinders to assist the air temperature to get hot enough to ignite the atomised fuel being sprayed into the cylinders. If you do not know of these plugs then have a qualified mechanic with diesel experience show you or have him fix them for you.

There is an item called a "setting saver" or something like that. It's a small power supply that plugs into the cigarette lighter, that keeps radio and computer active while changing battery. (I imagine you could make one by attaching a cigarette lighter power adapter to a good battery and plugging it in there.Don't use one with a transformer, just straight 12v!

see the headlight regulator on the driver's side. You'll then see a plastic Bolt. Turn 90 degree counter clockwise with a 2 Pence coin and open the Flap. Voilla the OBDII Plug is there.

usually you should do it for peugeot diesel at 122000 miles along with water pump and the tensioner roller that runs under the cambelt too. But to be on the safe side do it at 100000 and save the fortune.
It took me (DIY job) about 6-8 hours as i wanted to save 450 pounds.
