Opened locks with key fob ,opened back door first. No start engaged. How to reset ?

Try this. Press and hold lock until the panic alarm sounds, then double press unlock.

If that fails you have two options.

Call your local dealership to reset the alarm and imobilliser or you can disconnect the the battery for an hour and reconnect. This should reset it.

95 infinity j30 replaced ignition switch

you may have to have the immobiliser system reprogrammed for the new ignition switch and key. The transponder in the new key will need reprogramming to the CPU in the car. Take it to a service dealer and have it done.

Got a new ignition but it wont start. how do i program the ignition to the car?

You will have to program you keys to the immobiliser in the car. The keys transmit a code to the immobiliser in the car and if you have fitted anew ignition switch you will have new keys with the wrong transponder. You may be able to fix it by replacing the new transponder in the new key with the old transponder out of the old key

I have 850 volvo and keep getting imobilisor and alarm when i go to start it new battery it doesnt reset

Hi

Did you switch the new battery over directly after you removed the old one? If so try disconnecting the car battery for a few hours, then when you put it back on put the live "red" on first then the "negative" black second. this often resets the immobiliser.

Hope that helps.

p.s in some cases with other makes you have to leave the battery off over night as the immobiliser if factory fitted has a battery backup built in. this needs to run dead.

Regards
Dan

p.s.s also try lock and unlock with the key not the remote.
