I would not change to synthetic. The Paseo engine is not designed for it, and the benefit of synthetic oil will not be realized. Save your money, and stay with the regular oil.

What happens when you use regular oil instead of synthetic oil in 2007 dodge ram v6

synthetic oil is good but it has the same problem as ordinary oil
the additives in the oil are all used up and no longer do what they are there for
neutralizing acidity from combustion
keeping moisture in suspension, retaining tensile strength in the oil film and a host of other additives used to promote longer engine life
regular oil is cheaper so more regular oil changes can be afforded( every 5000 miles )
forget the myth that oil doesn't have to be changed for 12 months or 20000 miles
oil is the most vital component in an engine so changing often is for longer engine life
as a point of interest , when you pull into a shop for a service the oil you will get is ordinary engine oil because if synthetic oil was used , you would scream at the bill and not go back there unless you specifically ask for synthetic oil
simple economics and business sense
more costly than anywhere else = no business

What synthetic oil is the best one to get for my 1999 lexus gs 300

AMSOIL or Mobil 1 synthetic oils. Either one. AMSOIL claims to be the best order to meet the standards "all" manufacturers of synthetic oils have to have the minimum oil content mixture to achieve the quality standards.

SJ or SL or ILSAC 5W-30 is the manufacturers recommended engine oil.

Virtually all synthetic oils are compatible with any other oil (never saw one that was not) Even in an older engine they perform very well and can actually add years more life even to components that have slight wear.
The only thing that would prevent you from using a synthetic would be oil leaks as synthetics are more expensive and you don't want to be dripping your money on the ground.(some really good synthetics cost up to $9.00 per quart) I also would refrain from using a synthetic in an engine that is full of sludge, without first using a quality engine flush first, as synthetics tend to loosen and dissolve sludge so well it can sometimes block up the pickup screen on the pump.
For a good comparison, google "noac volatility tests".

OIl, synthetic or regular, what's the difference?

Synthetic oil won't break down as quickly as conventional oil, gives better protection and longer life. Excellent product, I Strongly suggested for those out there who forget to do their oil changes regularly or courier/ work vehicles.
Heres the link to an explaination from Castrol
I use conventional Oil in my jimmy with 5% of Lucas engine oil treatment and service the engine every 3,000 miles. I find it to costly for the Synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, and as for the high mileage oil you can buy. The high mileage oil has a higher fluid retention like adding Lucas engine oil treatment to any conventional oil, so you decide on what type of oil you like to use in your engine.
Good luck and hope this helps.

When the engine is started in a cold environment ( Canadian winter) there is a loud rattling noise. This noise disappears once the engine in warmed up. There is a corresponding high idle ( 1800 RPM) until...

it is probly your valve train starving for oil.I would try using a thinner oil in the winter time or just switch over to a full synthetic oil this should help.Once you switch to full synthetic oil though it is recomended to stay with it it is not good to go back and forth from synthetic to regular oil.

Should i use synthetic or regular for routine oil checks

if the van has high miles then synthetic oil is a waste of money, just use a good brand name 10W30W (5W30W for cold climates), if it is low miles and you plan to keep it a very long time then yes use the Synthetic, watch the adds u can get it fairly cheap. please rate my help.

Can i switch from regular engine oil to synthetic oil as long as i get the appropriate filter

To switch from regular oil to synthetic is not a problem. After you run synthetic, however, it is not good to go back to regular oil. Synthetic oil is and will continue to be more expensive then regular oil, if this isn't a sacrifice your willing to take, don't make the switch. Good Luck!

Change from regular to synthetic oil after 20,000 miles

No you should not have any problems once the car is broke in. but some of the little things you will notice is a little better fuel mileage. and less wear on your engine now keep in mind that synthetic oil should still be changed at the regular intervals. I just finally switched all my cars over to Synthetic. and hear is a few of the cars 1976 Dodge. and my 1968 dodge polara.
hope this answers your question
and I highly Recomend Switching your Differential Fluid to Synthetic also.
Please rate me if you wouldnt mind
Thank you

What grade and how much oil is required for 3.0 L engine

5w-30 is the correct weight of oil for your vehicle. If you are currently using synthetic oil then you must stay with synthetic. If you are using regular conventional oil, then you can choose to stay with it or switch to synthetic oil. Good luck
