It may have an issue with the fuel bleeding back to the tank..does the filter have a backbleed valve in it..when the pum p fires up there is air trapped in the feeder lines to the injectors.. gotta bleed it all out before starting..crack a line loose with the key on and look for fuel to spray out..

SOURCE: no start on duramax at time when hot

sounds like you are loosing the fuel prime from somewhere ? Not sure if you have a lift pump on the side of the engine on that model or not? follow the fuel rails from the tank pump up, and see if it runs into a lift pump or straight to the injector pump. I would guess that you are loosing your prime, so check the line and see if you if they are wet cracked or bent. also when you changed the fuel filter did you happen to notice if the o-ring came off with the last filter or not? You may just have doubled your gasket on the filter. Sometimes they stick on the filter housing and become unnoticed.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Stratus SE stalling and not restarting

Has anyone checked the starter? Is the motor spinning over when its "not starting",as you say? If not,Then you need to do a battery/starter/alternator check and make sure they are all functioning properly to begin with. It burns me up when mechanics just "throw parts" at a car because they have no idea,or dont take the time to figure out whats REALLY wrong with it.

Duramax diesel

most likely a bad injector, you need to check balance rates for the injectors with a scanner. if the rates are farly equal then it is probably a rod bearing but injectors are a common problem that's why they changed the original LB7 duramax(2000-2004) from internal injectors to external so they would be easyer to change.

The engine seized up and you can smell gasoline in the oil

You have a ruptured fuel pressure regulator diaphragm.
The gasoline will leak past the piston rings and end up in the oil pan. You need to change the oil.

Car dies won't restart. cranks over, has full battery, lights etc but acts like it is not getting gas. towed three or four times to GM dealership and they hook it up to computer and find nothing. No codes...

Is it fuel related or what . when it wont restart have you tried spraying some stater fluid in it for 3 seconds to see if it starts. If it starts and goes dead it will be fuel related. Do this test a couple of times and you should get the same results. If it doesnot not it will be electrical. Distributor is what i would replace first. or coil .Good Luck!!!

On 2005 duramax injectors, is there a recall on this issue

05 duramax injectors have gone bad I'm told because the ecm has gone bad. Is this the case or I'm I being told a crock? They say it needs 4 injectors. While I was driving down the road it started missing and then it would quit and start missing again. After about 6 miles it died. After changing the fuel filter and priming the system it would not start unless assisted with gas vapor. It will run for a few seconds (20 or so) very rough with no power at all and then would die. Does Chevrolet have any recomendations or will they give any assistence with this problem. I don't think I'm the first person that has had injector problems with the Duramax .

I hace a 2003 lincoln ls v8 3.9l. I was driving

Try taking the exhaust pipe loose at the manifold. I had a Chevy Suburban that acted the same way, it turned out to plugged catyletic converter. The converter wasn't letting the exhaust out, the truck had no power, it would stall and then start right up and great for about five seconds the run rough and quit. Once I disconnected the exhaust it started right up and ran great. You could also try taking the O2 sensors out (for test purposes) ahead of the converter that will give the exhaust a place to go

2003 GMC Duramax Diesel won't start

I see that you had the injectors replaced 20,000 miles ago. I would still check the oil to make sure it is not overfull. The new injectors could be bad. If the oil level is not overfull then get a paper towel and touch the dip stick tip on the paper towel while oil is on the dip stick. If it's only oil it will not spread. If it has diesel in the oil the oil with spread. If this test doesn't show the injectors to be bad then you have three other possibilities. The FICM (fuel injection control module), the fuel pressure regulator, or the injection pump. It's hard to pinpoint what the problem is without running more tests and the only way to run those tests is with the computer the dealership has. Just so you know your injectors are still under warranty until 100,000 miles. Most likely you will have to take it to the dealership to get you truck fixed. I hope this helps you some.
