Check throtle position sensor... one section closes a set of contacts when you take your foot off the accelerator... this is sent back to the engine control computer which adjust the timing to insure the engine stays @ ~ 800 rpm. It's easy to set with just a simple multimeter...

ah ha.. you have the same problem i have.. and it was posted in december which reaferms it lol.. was it really cold out? and was it a standerd? sounds like it if you bomb started it.. but.. anywho.. i found that placing a heater in the cab.. just a lil space heater solved the problem.. mine only does it when it is really cold out side and hence inside the cab.. there is a switch on your clutch that will not let you start it unless the clutch is pushed in to the floor.. i found that this switch does not tend to wanna start when cold.. if it was your starter, changing position on the fly wheel. eg trying to force the drive train to move.. would cause your starter to catch.. not work then not work at all then work.. try that.. cheep fix compared to a starter

you need to have the Engine Coolant Temperature switch checked, since the computer relies solely on sensors, the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting a car in the winter without a choke.
