Leave early and you will get there before them. You don't have to be first to the next stop light. Trade it for an older mustang gt or any other brand with a strong V-8. I have driven a VW 2.0 on a 277 mile one way trip and averaged 93 mph. Had a lot of fun doing that at times I had to push it over 115+ mph to push the other guy that had to be faster than me. Those pressure cooked motors don't last long anyway.

I cant find the dip stick for the auto transmission. I looked everywhere. Just dont know. I never owned a VW before, and bought a 96 Jetta gls auto. Help please....

it is my understanding that you have to take it to vw dealer or a vw mechanic and have them check or change tranny fluids. not positive bout it but that is what i was told. daughter just got a jetta turbo and that is what we were told by a friend of hers that has one.

The lower hose of the engine block just behind the alternator is where you will find the thermostat.

I have a 2002 VW Jetta TDI and am problems with turbo.

Hallo
1.Disconect lower hose from intercooler and oil (from 0,1 liter or more) (sometimes 1-2 liters) comes out, you should not drive it.(car had probably loose power) Change the turbine, oil and oil filter. do not forget to disconect lower hose and let oil drain out. Otherwise when new turbine is instald, the air flow will **** this oil inside the engine and distroy it.
2.your car is not designed to run without turbine and will not work like normal disel.(SDI).
hope it helps

Don't know much about VW but if it's fine, and it doesn't happen again I wouldn't worry about it. If it does try resetting the ECU by removing the battery terminals and touching the positive lead(red wire) to the negative battery post. It might spark a little, this is just the capacitors discharging, resetting your ECU and starting over. It's like restarting your personal computer
