Question about 2005 Toyota Highlander
I recently purchased a used 2005 Toyota Highlander. When I have the a/c on, it will suddenly send out hot air until I fiddle with the knobs. What's going on? 2005 Toyota Highlander, heat coming out of dash vents and floor even when the fan is in the off position and the temp control knob is in the cold position. Same happens when turning a/c on. Could this be a knob problem?
The loose nut is the problem but once the wires break the damage is done and retightening it will not fix the problem with the heater. They can be fixed but the person must know what to do. The units cost 500.00 plus dollars

The nut behind the hot/cold mix nob comes loose and causes this problem. pull the nob straight off to expose the stem and loose nut. tighten it and be sure to put locktite on it so it doesn't come loose again. the nut behind the vent control nob also has the same problem.

You have to replace the dash a/c control
