Where would the af sensor be located on my 2004 nissan maxima

your maxima has 2 a/f ratio sensors. they are both screwed into the exhaust manifolds. bank 2 which is the front bank by radiator has sensor clearly visible right by the fans. bank 1 is a pain in the rear to replace, because of its location by the firewall. you will need to perform "self learn reset" procedure after replacing the a/f ratio sensor, or the code will come back on, even tho you don't have an issue with the sensor. reset procedure gets done with nissans consult scanner.

How to reset computer?

If you locate and remove the Engine EFI fuse in the main block for a few seconds and then replace, this should reset your vehicle's engine computer.

If this cannot be found, simply disconnect the NEG- battery cable for few seconds, then re-attach.

After resetting the engine computer, you will need to idle the engine for approx. 15mins, to allow the computer to relearn the new data from all sensors (vehicle may run rough until this procedure is complete).

Hi there:
You are right, DTC P0058 - HO2S Heater Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2

As far as replacing them, the only thing that has me wondering about a wiring issue. Keep in mind that power comes directly from the engine computer. Either the wires are broken or the computer is bad.

Aditionally, in THIS LINK could fin other descrtipion test and details procedure.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Engine light comes on, when there is code stored in the computer of the engine. You will need to get the computer scanned at local motorcycle/bike scan center. They do it by scan tool. But if no code is detected, then there is a reset procedure to reset engine light. The procedure to reset is simple.Just plug in scan tool or code reading into OBD2 DLC 16 pin connector above right knee. press reset DTC. The reset is done.If codes are in case detected, then codes will point towards faulty part, and you can replace the part as per the codes detected. --------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech,.

From the information I could gather, you will have to have a dealer reset the sensor. You might call Auto Zone auto parts store and see if they can do it, since they will scan your computer for free. Their scanner may have the capability to reset the sensor.

were this oem sensor (original) or after market? some times the after mark are not as good. the miles you did are this stop and go (city) or higwh ,there a certain procedure to reset this computers some cars take longer than othersget your mechanic to do it him self with the scanner or just keep driving it until it resets itself or gives a code.

Replacing oxygen sensor

the sensor can be tested but it requires a very expensive electronic system scanner, what code do u have, most O2 codes are not a fualty sensor but a problem in the fuel injection system, the sensor just reads the problem(s)
