SOURCE: Interior Carpet Getting Wet

It sounds like a plugged drain line from the air conditioner. Most cars now run in the a/c mode whenever u turn on the climate control (even when heat is on). The passenger side front is where it would be wet, and the carpet and carpet pad act like a sponge and will soak up the water. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: 1997 honda accord sunroof drain problem

You need to open the sunroof fully and locate the small drain holes at each corner. They will be blocked with debris. Get a piece of welding wire or the likes and carefully unblock the hose by prodding and pouring water down it. When cleared the water shout run away freely.

most common problem is the a/c condensor tube is clogged and is under the car and needs to be cleared with compressed air. also the sunroof track has 4 drain tubes and the right front may be clogged or leaking. you can check that by pouring a cup of water down the right front drain tube in the sunroof track and see if water comes out by the right front wheel

Where is the sunroof drain located on 2002 monte carlo ss and how do i unclog it?

Water leaks are fun to trace out. the drain holes and tubes can be seen with roof open and can be unplugged with compressed air . but usually the headliner is soaked and leaks on to seats the windshield will leak on to passenger floor. remove glove box and check for wetness along "A" pillar.

2000 Celica back seats bottom stay wet all the time. I removed the seats and they are soaked with water. Where is it coming from. Thanks for any help.

If the car has a sunroof, your sunroof drains are backed up and leaking into rear (from pillars) need to be blown out w/compressed air. If not, might be leaking through trunk seal and/or lower glass rear window seal.

Do you have a sunroof? If you do, this may be the problem. The seal for the sunroof may be damaged letting water past the drain channels. A cheap trick is to get your water hose and hold it over the sunroof and if you don't see anything, try other areas such as the back glass "the seal could be bad or pulled away from the matting surface. You have drain channels all over the car, but the seals are the issue I would look for. The trunk could be leaking and letting water run through to the back seats. None of this seems possible but a leak can be very hard to trace down. Good Luck.r

Water leaking in by passenger side!!!!!!

Most likely the sunroof drains are clogged. It happened to mine (and my friend who has the same car), the floormats and floors were soaked, especially behind the drivers side. Volvo wanted to charge me $550 to clear them out and dry out the floors. Instead I took it home, rolled down the windows, parked it in the sun and let it dry out. Then I found a mechanic who blew out the drains with compressed air for only $20. He had originally quoted me $50-100, but ended up doing it for less. He said the two back drains were clogged. You can try sticking a small flexible wire down the front two yourself, then pour water down to see if it drains properly out the bottom of the car. When I looked I didn't see the two back sunroof drains (they are smaller), but my mechanic said they were clogged with leaves, you might be able to clear these yourself too. I would have never guessed that it was the sunroof causing this, because you don't see the water leak around the sunroof, you only see the water backing up on the floor. It has to do with the way the sunroof drains drain down the side panels of your car. Don't take it to the dealership, it's a simple job and they will rip you off.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire passenger floor is soaking wet after rain.

This is either two things. 1: The air conditioner condenser is leaking and will have to be siliconed, or you have a bead door or other weather stip that is allowing water in.

My 1996 tahoe is leaking water ,carpets are wet

Statistacally--most leaks come from sunroofs and yes they can be one side or the other. Happens from clogged drains. Sunroof drains run across the headliner and down the a-pillar. you can have them cleaned and checked. This is all assuming you have a sunroof. Hope I helped. Thanks.
