THE SWITCH USES A SPECIAL SOCKET. ON A 2.4L IT IS BETWEEN THE CAM HOUSINGS AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE NEAR THE POWER STEERING PUMP.

ON A 3.4L ENGINE IT IS ABOVE THE STARTER ON THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE BLOCK.

My 2006 expedition will not start. the information center says ENGINE:OFF LOW OIL PREESURE....but my oil level is full and clean

If the engine is not running, the low oil pressure indication is correct and normal. There will be no pressure until the engine is actually truning over/running.

What causes my Hyundai Sonata to Knock on mornings first start, Knock lasts for just a few seconds. I live in the tropics, so it's not cold here. Sometimes it also smokes when idling.

if the oil is worn out then you will suffer no preesure, hence the knock, try changing the oil and filter.thenn if the knock persists, you may need to rebuild your engine.

Tryin to find low oil preesure problem before having to replace oil pump already replaced oil sending unit and gauge

need to find out the pressure the pump is putting out hook up a mechanical pressure gauge most use the sensor port to hook into and test pressure if pressure good than u may have a sludge problem where a flush might help-if pressure low possible clogging [sludge build up] of oil screen-[which a flush or back blow-compressed air -to clear or clean pick up tube and screen should help ]--or internal engine problem or oil pump bad

My 1994 Lincoln Continental dcl light keeps coming on and then afterwards the the oil pressure light comes on. What is the problem?

it is a very common electrical problem with digital displays on lincolns, and unless you have extensive wiring experience, I'm afraid that your only option is to replace the display itself, I had to do it on my own 1990 continental twice before the problem went away, my brother's 94 continental still has that issue...luckily most auto salvage yards have these parts available, some even let you pull them out yourself, which makes things even cheaper, I hope this helps.
P.S. if you need instructions on how to take out the display let me know (or go and buy Chiltons)

I need to change the oil preesure switch on my 1999 cavalier.Do I need to drain the oil?

No, the sending unit is installed in one of the oil pressure galleys. You will get a small dribble, but nothing drastic.
Good luck.

Problem with Chevrolet 4.3 Vortec fuel pressure / oil pressure relay

a bad fuel pump relay will not cause vehicle to only run under 50. the oil pressure switch does bypass relay when pressure builds up. if you are having problems with running need to check fuel pressure. possibly caused by clogged fuel filter

Could be a fuel injector drizzling fuel instead of spraying a finely atomized mist.A fine mist will burn thoroughly, while a drizzle of fuel will not,and whatever fuel is left will go on down past the rings to a certain extent. Also have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic trouble codes, and address any codes.Change the oil and filter before any damage is done.
