My son got my 2003 jeep grand cherokee stuck in the mud last night and his dim-witted friend said he could pull it out by wraping a rope through the wheel well and around the polycarb bumper! well they damaged the fuel filter assembly which was hidden inside the wheel well. It looks easily repairable but I need the parts or a schematic to identify which parts I need! -Frank

Fuel filter is mounted on top of the fuel pump (on the gas tank) Doubtful that's what was damaged. Likely you mean the fuel fill (where you put gas in) was damaged. If you need a new one you can find all those parts (inexpensive) at any scrapyard. Likely, you will need to drop the tank to install. If I'm wrong about what was damaged, same applies to those parts as well.

How can i select 4 wheel drive on my 06 jeep grand cherokee it has an auto gearbox thanks

Most of those have Quadratrack which is full time four wheel drive. (lever all the way to front) neutral is used when towing your vehicle and low range is only used when in severe conditions or pulling another vehicle from a mud hole etc. That can be engaged by rolling slowly forward and pulling the lever all the way back. On all other systems though some can be engaged at a standstill, it usually id better to shift while rolling, usually below 20mph. Neutral in all systems is as I said before.
If it cannot be shifted, or it does not engage, likely it is either not properly adjusted or the transfer case or another component is worn.

1998 grand cherokee water leaking into drivers side

IT IS THE FREAKING piece of **** AC system.
The drain nipple is clogged (happens very frequently b/c the grill and screen does NOT block leaves and other debris.
The AC system is based on a 15+ year design that Jeep has Never chosen to fix. It drips in all the 1990 series jeeps. Most people dont discover it until 2-3 years after the carpet gets so soaked it Never can dry.
Take it to A/C mechanic with LOTS of Jeep experience. Sorry - expect to pay for a complete removal and replace of dash and AC ducts ($1,200-1800).
