Ours did the same at times , its either the window lift motor which costs around $ 55.00 new or the window regulator . The window regulator and motor come together starting at $115.00 and up at most part stores . We went to car salvage yard and replaced both for less , hope this helps.

Check to see if the weather strip around the window has bulged together and is stopping the window. If so, try to strisghten out rubber strip while also moving switch to up.

Sounds like the window lock switch is on, or defective. You can lock out the other switches from the driver's control panel.

No power sometimes it works drivers door electric windows

Hi,
what you can do to save some money.
first check if you can open and close the windows from each door using the contacts situated on the respective door.
If yes, than you can do as I did.
Take the main power windows switch out from the driver windows. Try to spray inside of the contact some WD40 and play with the buttons for a while.
Usually there is a lot of dirt and corrosion, and contacts are not working properly.
So you can clean the main switch using wd40 and it might work.On mine worked with no problem. Now I have all the windows working from the drivers switch.
good luck.

do any other windows work?
do they work from the drivers switch panel?
if they do, then power is likely to be present to the switch.
if the driver and pass. switches are interchangeable, try swapping them.
if all windows are dead, look for blown fuse first, then check switch and the socket/wiring harness connected to the switch.
smell the switch, if it smells burnt, it probably is...

Just bought 1998 LeSabre w/56k miles. rear windows don't work from rear door switches or driver's door switches. Any known issues to check first?

You may have a broken power wire & it is usually in the driver's side door wiring harness at the flex point. Peal back the outer casing to expose the wires & repair any broken or frayed wires. You can solder & tape or use heat shrink if you have a heat gun. Good luck!

Power quarter vent window

The motor that drives this window is very small and prone to failure, gain access to the motor connector and with a 12 volt test light probe the motor connector wires while someone operates the switch to open or close the window.
