i had this problem to, do not hook the ground wire from truck to your radio. use the braided wire that hooked to your old factory radio by inserting a bolt into the braided wire and ground from your new radio.
then check fuses one more time and you are good to go.I didnt think this would work but it did..

The brake switch is out of adjustment or it is defective. The switch is activated by pressing down on the peddle. Look underneath the dash & using your hand see if the plunger releases when you press down. If it doesn't, it's stuck. If it does release & break light doesn't work, change the switch.
