Do you know the trick how to get your key to work with any door barrel or are you just focusing on central locking?

if not anyways this is how to take any barrel out of another golf off the scrap yard and make your key fit. Open the door, remove the 3 bolts holding the locking mechanism in. Remove the 4th screw that holds in the door handle. Take out the door handle, where the barrel is there will be a flat end what goes into the locking mechanism with a spring at the bottom of it, under the spring there is a hook that hooks into the barrel. unhook it, remove the
barrel. Now place your key that you want to fit into the new barrel, if
there are and little gold plates sticking out the side of the new barrel
take your key out and slide the gold plate out. do this till when your
key is fully inserted there are no gold plates sticking out of the
barrel ( try to leave a couple in if possible ) put everything back together and your lock should work again, not the most secure way but its cheaper than buying a whole new lock.

2003 VW GOLF REAR door wont open

The rear door lock actuator has failed in the door locking unit this is a common problem you can manually unlock the door to replace the latch if you didn't have the deadlocking on if you cant try pressing the locking button twice so when the car is locked the flashing red light is not blinking ie off on the drivers. Doing this usually causes the faulty lock to release the dead locking so you can pull the inside handle to unlock the door.

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

I need to get a central locking pump for my 93 vw golf but the person before me has thrown the old one away how do i know what the right part is??

I would check with a local VW Dealership. They can give you the part number for the central locking pump for your car.

I need central locking fitted to my golf

Besides the cost of the part, they have a flat rate charge per hour. So to have an idea, ask how much time is allotted for this job that VW recognizes it should take to fix it then you multiply the time to the flat rate.

My central locking on my 1997 vw golf just stopped working it sounded like it was trying to work but now does nothing. also the gas tank cover wont open as its stuck on lock...any advice on what i can try?

the gas flap is operated with the central locking, stand at rear of car with tailgate open, just inside to the right, under the floormat you will find the central locking pump.but first renew the batteries in the remotes then unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows may go down,
then lock the car with the key and hold over for 30 secs, the windows may go up and the sunroof,if fitted will close, then unlock with remote button held down for 30 secs, this will reset alarm/central locking.
if you need to get to gas flap, pull carpet away in boot behind flap area and pull wire to unlock....
