SOURCE: 2003 VUE-how do i locate/replace coolant temperature sensor

Its on the drivers side of the engine below the intake manifold. Why do you want to replace it? I have worked with the VUE since day one and I have yet to see a bad coolant temp sensor. If you are having trouble with the engine temperature or the amount of heat in the car a very common cause is the thermostat sticking open and not alowing the engine to reach operating temperature. The most common telltale to this condition is usually the service engine soon light is on with a p0128 code stored in the PCM.

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue 2.2L. The cooling fan is not comomt on when the engine is hot.

Have the coolant temperature sensor checked or replace.
That sensor is tied in with the cooling fans. When the coolant temp increases it turns on the fan.
It is usually located around the thermostat housing or screwed into the engine block with a 2 or 3 wire connector on it.

Saturn vue 2004 what is aECt connector and lines?

The ECT is the "Engine Coolant Temperature". There should be 2 sensors on the engine, one for the ecm (engine computer) and another one for the temp gauge on the dash. I dont have the info to tell you where they are, but near the thermostat housing and the cyl head is the logical place.

Please Help me

Hi,
I too own a Saturn, "VUE". This is probably useless information but I'll tell you what happened to me. I was taking an exit ramp on the way home from work one day and when I had stopped at the traffic light the radiator was smoking and boiling over. "THERMOSTAT RIGHT?" Yes that was the problem. I took the VUE into the repair shop and the manager said "This will be my first Saturn". I said how long will it take, he replied "Oh you can have it back by 5 o'clock today! I said Great! Well I got a phone call at 3:30 pm saying The parts man delivered the wrong part. But here's the best part, AND TRUELY HOPE THIS IS NOT YOUR SITUATION TOO! The thermostat is underneath the intake manifold! Can you believe it. He initally told me the repair would be approx. $130 to $150.................Not so when all was said and done the final bill was $324.00. Wheew what an assinine place to put a thermostat. When I was a kid the cost about $10 bucks and a 9/16" box wrench and about a 1/2 an hour!
