Question about 2005 Ford Crown Victoria

1 Answer

I HAVE A 2005 CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR AND THE CAR RUNS GREAT IN THE FORWARD GEARS BUT WONT DO ANYTHING IN REVERSE. I CHECKED THE FLUID AND PULLED THE PAN. NO METAL PARTS IN THE PAN. COULD IT BE A PROBLEM WITH A SERVO OR SOLINOID OR A MODULE? MY EMAIL IS CRNDG945@YAHOO.COM

Check the connector where the shifter cable is attached to the transmission. Check for broken wires there too. Is the transmission has less than 100K miles, probably the problem is there. Is no problem on the connector or wiring harness, You are gonna need a new tranny or at least that one serviced.

Look like internal transdmission problem - reverse gear is broken. Common for 2005-2006 CVPI

I recently had a transmission installed four months ago, however twice it would not go in drive or reverse. It is a 1998 crown Victoria police interceptor.

I know you had a transmission installed but did you get the tourque converter as well as the transmission ... not all transmission shops will do a great job you need to find someone reliable you can trust ... personal opinion says find an older white guy thats been doing it for years worked well for me

?2005 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor starts

I would but imagine that since it goes into reverse, the shift lever is connected to the transmission. Makes sense. But won't go into forward gears with the selector/shift lever. Your either very low on trans fluid or you've burned the clutch packs out from being low on trans fluid. Only makes sense.

99 crown vic police interceptor steering wheel??

i have ran into 2 issues in these vehicles---if it binds while sitting still also, check the steering shaft, i have found the u-joints in the shaft tighten up and binds dangerously tight---if they are free, sounds like you may have a steering box issue or restriction in a line---hope this was helpful!!

Have you checked the fuel filter. Fuel pump will pressure up, but fuel filter could be clogged and not work without the pressure of the fuel pump.
