You probbally need to replace your thermostat, and while you are at it flush your radiator.

Rattling sound when I slow down. Sounds like a bad water pump but the sound stops when I disengage the clutch and stop even though the engine is still running.

The car is over heating. Check the coolant level. Have a pressure test done to check for ;leaks. Have a compression test done to check for head gasket and cracked head/s. Normal operating temperature is between 85 and 95 degrees c and if as you say is 20% hotter then it is boiling

How to turn the heat on in my car its a 2000

My 2000 Bville did this to me once. It turned out all it was was a sticky valve that was stuck in the cool position, not letting the hot water flow through. I turned it to heat and banged around under the dashboard and got it to work. When it happened again I pulled off the panels under the dash and found the valve and tapped on it with a hammer and it hasn't happened since. Good Luck!!

1994 S-10 pick up takes forever to heat up.

Could be the thermostat but also heating core partially corroded or plugged slowing down circulation.
