Better to replace complete unit than just the springs. Remove plastic cover facing inside of car to expose the screws holding the side mirror.

Replacing the drive belt on 05 Pontiac Sunfire, how do I release the tension to get the belt on.

Must have a center bearing screw to allow release. If not is just nearby,on the top of a flat piece witch hide a spring. If not imay have just to fix a allen key in the middle and it can pull the bearing against a strong hidden spring.Use a small mirror to ispect.

This image shows a hidden spring in a closed case for sunfire(u can see the rotation sense and blocks).U need a front good key wich will help rotate the hole bearing against the inner cased round spring (to the right hand,to the left it will unscrew the hole assy)Cheers

How to replace passenger side power mirror on 1998 ford ranger XLT? Hit another vehicle and knocked mirror off.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls and mirror. Then you can remove the bolts securing the mirror housing onto the door. (I assume that part is still intact).

If it's just the mirror piece and backing that fell out of the housing, then on the inside of the housing, you should see two to four clips that secure the pivot point and two rods that control the pitch of the mirror. You may be able to just 'jam' the mirror backing back in. But the rods need to be secured to the back of the mirror backing in order to prevent the mirror from just falling or moving on its own

Can i buy just the bracket to hold the drivers side mirror. The mirror is intack.

most places sell the bracket (housing) along with the mirror and backing. The tricky part is trying to separate the backing from the housing as the pivot point and a bunch of clips and metal springs holding it on. Usually if you remove the backing, it's really hard to get it back on without breaking something.
Safest and fastest IMO would be the following:

The inside rear view mirror fell off I need to re=attach it

The button is locked into the mirror shoe by a flat spring. Find the notch at the bottom of the shoe and insert a small flat screwdriver to push the spring away from the button. Some force may be required.
