Question about 1988 Toyota 4Runner
Not sure the engine size, but it's an automatic 88 4Runner with about 130,000 miles on it. The engine was loping in idle and was having trouble accelerating. Was on the highway and would not maintain speed; sounded like it would get up to a higher gear and then drop out of it even though I was still giving it gas. Eventually, it slowed way down and came to a stop. Oil was everywhere; a lot directly underneath the engine and even on the driver's side tire. Will not start, it just goes rrrrrr....rrrrrr.....rrrrrr. Please help!
I think you need to have it looked at by a local mechanic. By what you describe it sounds like your engine could be severely damaged.
