I can not find an exploded diagram to show clutch and pressure plate replacement.where can I get one for a 1988 Chevy nova 1.6 liter 5 speed manual

Try HAYNES REPAIR MANUALS.com....It is a very simple job on that type of vehicle if you have
a service lift or a good set of tall ramps,,,I am sure Haynes should have it but finding the same year model Is hard to say.......But most clutch jobs on rear wheel drives arent that hard if you have the
tools and a trans jack and a good safe way to raise the vehicle................If you cant find one I will give you easy step by step instructions.......I am certified...27 yrs of service work auto/ med. heavy truck.....best of luck..........................................Metalpoet

Ignition on my 2004 jeep grand Cherokee is locked, how do I unlock the ignition? Keys goes in ignition, door chim works when key is in ignition. But the key won't turn it's stuck.

tap the ignition lock cylinder with the plastic end of a scrwedriver (with the key removed). then insert the key and try to start. Try this several times. If you get it to turn immediately replace the igntion lock cylinder. The cylinder needs to be in the on position in order for the lock button to be depressed so that the cylinder can be removed from the housing.

If you still can't get it to turn than you will have to drill out the lock button in order to get the old lock cylinder out. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have some experience and understand what you are doing.

The lock button can be accessed by removing the lower steering column cover.

I have a 1999 chevy tahoe that when i turn the key on everything seems to go haywire and then dead .I had the battery checked out last week and it checked out fine . Does this sound like a short ? If so,...

These models were know for igntion switch problems. the switch is located in the column near the key and lock cylinder.usually there is a burnt smell if you smell around the switch when you remove upper column cover.switch will need to be replaced if it is burnt.

The Haynes manual is detailed enough to get you through the job, or you can create a free account at Autozone and they have an online manual which also covers this task. I can go through it step by step if you want, but essentially I'd just be regurgitating the information available from these 2 sources.

It's not a particularly difficult job, just a bit cramped, and make sure you have all of the necessary tools to hand so that you don't have to keep climbing out from under the vehicle, that tends to get old really quickly...

Change ignition cylinder? (lock?)

the new cylinder's key has a different code, so the anti-theft module has to reset to accept that code, with the old cylinder u could program extra keys as long as u had one key that worked, but since that is not the case with a new lock cylinder I think u are stuck with taking it to the dealer, any GM dealer can do this job, call around and try to get a lower estimate. Before having it towed try this work around I found on a car thread on this issue:

1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the passlock system to recognize your key. Not sure this will work but it is worth a try.

I accidently put the wrong key in the ignition of my 1988 chevy nova. I got the key out but the right key doesn't go in now. Any suggestions

It sounds like you jambed the tumblers in the ignition switch.
You might want to try calling a locksmith to discuss if this is something that they can do.
Worse case, you would have to replace the ignition switch.
