Question about 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Am getting a musty smell from the air conditioner of my 2006 V6 Hyundai Sonata, usually when it is first turned on (air or sometimes just the engine) and goes away after a few moments

You may need to replace your cabin a/c filter.

if it's been replaced recently, take it out and spray it with some deodorizing spray.

The more you use it the less you should smell it. Sometimes they smell that way after NOT being used for a period of time.

I think you may need to chnge your cabin air filter if it smells like mildew or a musty type smell, its located under the hood by the windshield on those I believe.

2006 Hyundai Sonata Limited, 3.3 V6. Engine light turned on. I think the gas cap may be damaged, What are other possibilities?


replace the gas cap and the light will turn off if this is the problem. there are a number of reasons the engine light can turn on

My air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing cold air yesterday...its a 07 Hyundai Sonata v6...any ideas as to why?


im no expert but it could be out of gas theres a cylinder under the bonnet usually near the wall at the back of dash it can get a leak or run out if u take it to an air con place they can tell u if its empty or has a whole in it but sometimes they can just run out of gas usually bout $100 to refill it

Hyundai Sonata 2006 - Check Engine light came on.


"Fuel system too lean at idle". It's an air/fuel ratio that is not correct, possibly a vacuum leak somewhere. Or a leaky exhaust pipe. Could be related to intake manifold gasket. Somewhere, air is getting into the engine.

I suggest taking it back to the dealer under warranty. I think Hyundai is 10yr./100k for the original owner. 5yr./50k if not. Ask first if covered, and ask why not id not covered.

Does the 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 have a timing belt or chain? thanks


My dealership informed me that the V6 3.3 litre engine has a timing change. It is not subject to 100,000 kms change.
