Will not start

It seems that something was burned out trying to make the starter turn. The problem could be the starter and/or the solenoid.

Go to youtube and enter, "how to check a starter" you may have to remove it to check it. I could tell you how. But it is better if you see how it's done for yourself. Also check the fuses.

Changed plugs and rotor in my 92 chevy 3500 454 and now it turns over but it won't start. What could the problem be? At my witts end HELP!!!!!

If the truck was running prior to changing the plugs and rotor, there's not much that could have gone wrong. You didn't mention changing the distributor cap. That usually goes hand in hand with changing the rotor. Make sure the rotor wasn't installed 180 degrees off. Double check the spark plug wires to make sure they are on the right plug. If that all checks out, then you need to pull a spark plug and check for spark and fuel at the cylinder.

Van died, when trying to start, it acted like it was not getting fuel;turning over but couldnt keep running. However when just turning key on, you can hear fuel pump kick on.

I would start by changing the fuel filter, if it hasn't been done within the past 6 months. If you know someone who can test your fuel pressure and cylinder compression, have them do so. If all checks out, make sure your spark plug wires, coil, and spark plugs are in good condition. If you have misfiring problems replace your spark plug wires and have your timing checked out.

I hooked up the spark plug wires wrong on the distrator cap it is a 1988 4.3L 6cyl how can i find a diagram to fix this problem or tell me hoe to fix it

find the firing order which is usually on the intake manifold, put the crankshaft on 0 degrees top dead center, pull off the distributor cap and mark where the rotor button is pointing, start #1 cylinder at that spot(which that spot should be pointing towards the rear of the distributor),and # 1 cylinder is front of engine on the drivers side then it goes next 1 back #3 then # 5,and the passengers side front is #2, then #4,then #6 towards the back, and the firing order goes clockwise on the distributor.if it spits and sputters or back fires, then the timing firing order is off 180 degrees,so move every wire to the exact opposite on the cap,so your #1 plug wire will be opposite from where you put it first.then double check the firing order and all plug wires then try it.the firing order is:165432,i still dont know how to send pictures.

2000 blazer runs rough and surges

Faulty idle air control valve or timing chain has jumped. So after you changed plugs it got worse? Better double check to see if the wires are right. You should also look for more damaged loose or cracked vacuum lines. Wiggle them all around with the engine running.

Need diagram for plug wires from motor to cap??

The best way to get a good diagram would be to get a haynes book from an autoparts store. They often lend them out for a small deposit. Depending on the motor i could give more information.

WIRING DIAGRAM FOR 1984 AMC EAGLE

well you have several options you can go to a dealship and have them copy the diagram for you(i do this all the time) or you can purchase a repair manual at Napa or Oreilly's for around 20 bucks. it has diagrams and schematics in it. it also has alot of instructions in it so you can do repairs yourself. By the way i'm surprised that the mechanic doesn't have these diagrams himself. I was wandering why it won't start after you changed the plugs and wires could it be that maybe the firing order is wrong. i've done that myself a time or 2. double check the the plug wires to make sure they are in the right spot. if the problem is it won't crank. chances are you have a loose ground. please rate this..thanks
