Disconnect the main battery to alternator wire and check again.
The diode rectifiers in the alternator may have become shorted due to the reverse polarity.

SOURCE: no power to the fuse box

i think it has 2 boxes. but id look at the ignition switch. do the headlights work. and is there a big fuse very close to the battery you might be over looking. and a lot of time the fuse box gets power from the starter. check to see if you have power there. and does this truck turn over good luck

most likley the positive wire has corroded off the starter. look at the small red wire more closely, if theres alot of corosion, replace the wire (and starter if needed) if you dont see much corrosion give the wire a good tug just to see if it really is hooked up well. you should disconnect the batt. before doing any of this.hope this helps and good luck

usually fusible links cause this look for a fuse box under the hood close to the battery if its there and has giant fuses in it it is probably one of them. If it does not have giant fuses then it is a wire type fusible link you can test either using a standard 12v test light just check both sides for power.

1986 Honda Accord, no power

You have a loose wire or cable, or have blown a fuse or fusible link somewhere. Check battery terminals, connections to the alternator, negative terminal to engine, engine to body, battery to body. A voltmeter is essential for speed and accuracy. A mechanic can sort this out in no time flat. 25316044-dz1fkxf1fwolart5ai0divhk-4-0.jpg

Hooked battery up backwards car won't start changed fusible link got power changed starter new battery

BY hooking up the battery the wrong way it is possible that you have blown up the CPU and ECM. IF you can get hold of another unit hook it up and see if it starts / fires . IF so the that will be the problem

Hi, first thing to do and if you know location of the fuse box take light tester and test each fuse may you find some fuses blew. change theme first. if you change the fuses and the the problem for each item you describe still on that mean damage went to the items you say.

After changing battery , I have no power at all , have I blown a fuze?

Check the voltage. Check to see when you turn the key on, do you get any lights on the dash. Also, check the headlights. If you are getting nothing, then you definitely have a blown fuse. This probably happened from attempting to jump the vehicle incorrectly or hooking up the leads backwards. Check all fuses in the underhood fuse block, not just the fuse block inside the vehicle.

Sounds like you may have blown out the alternator protection fuse by hooking the battery cables up backwards. How does one do that?? Check the large "MAXI" fuses in the Under hood fuse box near battery, this will be a large amperage fuse.

What CAUSED the fuse to blow? Was the battery hooked up backwards or something? If so, your radio is probably toast.

Hooked up spare battery to the wrong terminals now have no power at all lights still work but no dash lights? what could it be is there a fuse that might have blown or something worse?

Under the hood is a fuse box. In this box is going to be a large fuse (between 60 and 100 amps usually) and it may be labeled 'main', 'alt', or 'batt'. This is the fuse that runs from the battery to the main power of the vehicle. When you hook a battery up like that it blows this main fuse. You'll need to replace that and any other fuses it blew out.
