SOURCE: overdrive transmission

you have an issue with the torque converter clutch, your symptoms indicate this is the issue, possible TCC solenoid problem or the torque converter itself has a shorted magnetic clutch.

Did you check the starter solenoid, or the relay? Also there is a starter or ignition fuse that may be bad.

Changed steering column with another one , everything comes on but wont start.

Did you put the original anti-theft module on the new steering column ? Does yours have steering column mounted ignition switch ? Vehicles with steering column mounted ignition switches have the exciter integral with the theft deterrent control module (VTD) which is located within the steering column.

Blinkers wont blink change the relay fuses ok

What about the turn signal switch on the steering column? Did you use a testlight and check voltage at the turn signal fuse? Goes hot when you turn on the key.

A lot of times, it's the turn switch or wiring in the steering column, but, It don't hurt to check the basics.

2000 Pontiac Sunfire wont start

Its likely that you have either a bad ignition switch or a bad neutral safety switch (if stickshift, clutch switch) Try starting in neutral...if it starts, change neutral switch (jump across clutch switch, check starting in neutral with your foot on the brake) Ignition switch is on top of steering column under dash.

O/D off

That means that your OverDrive is Turned off. On the end of the Shiffter on the Steering Column There should be a Swith that says O/D on it. If you press the Button this light will go off.

I have a 2000 mercury viillager and the overdrive won't engage when the button is pushed. No light on the dash as well.

When the O/D light is on, it means you are turoning the O/D OFF.

WHne the O/D light is off, it means O/D will engage.

If you think it is not going into O/D, check the switch.
