It seems that all the power is going to the drivers side wheel or the passenger brake is not fully releasing..check the brake first.. then go to the drive train under the car and check everything from the wheel to suspension parts look for worn bushings etc..this requires putting the car on a lift and getting under it..

I have a 2000 Toyota solara. After a complete tune up, and fuel filter replacement, the engine now surges up and down; and I can only accelerate wealth the pedal to the floor.

All vehicles since 1981 some 35 years, have had
computers doing the tuning,so no tune-ups,long gone,
some 25 years ago

The place you went to, obviously, just threw some parts
at it & did not do what was required

Now you can go back there or pay a second time, elsewhere to
have your car properly worked on, to find any & all problems

Why does a 94 v-8 limited vehicle have acceleration surges.this happens with acceleration or with brake applied just after using accelerator.this does not happen at idle or in neutral. why does this h

Surges are usually from dirty throttle body's, idle air control motors, or airfilters. I would clean or replace these first. Other things could be O2 sensors, or bad catalytic converters.

Power surging when accelerating

Fuel pressure Normal range is 35 to 70 PSI. Without the proper fuel pressure needed the vehicle surges and looses power especially goin up hill and at WOT(wide open throttle) . Its a good call if you change full filter your going to any way. you got a surge going on. Also check the airfilter once that plugs up it will also cause the surge. Surges happen when it lacks something so your getting less of some thing

When you first going it stalls then it surges

Try for a few seconds pushing the accelerator pedal about halfway to the floor to rev it, then drop back immediately, do this a few times, if that doesn't even out, it may have a problem with the electronic choke. That, or get the MAF/temp/O2 sensors checked out.

Two symptoms here Keith, and I just had this, same car year and model. The pedal could either be a bit loose, check the cable and throtle. Have someone check, when the cars in neutral, they manually rev it, and watch the RPM's. They should go 3-4 as normal. If this is the case, and its not the cable or pedal, REPLACE spark plug cables and wires. Odd, but that was the fix to mine. Hope it helps.
