Etios Diesel Noise & Chassis Issues

My Etios went 30,000 km in 15 months. 1). I have had a doubt of the left part of the body / chassis being at a lower height than the Right. 2). The A/C Compressor makes a huge noise when started. Is it common for all such cars or should I consult a Mechanic ?

SOURCE: I own a 2007 Jeep

From what I have found it is usually the alternator in those cars. If the car is not giving the low-voltage warning light (looks like a red battery), then it is the "decoupler pulley" on the alternator itself. It is about a third to half the cost of an alternator, and you still need to take out the alternator to change it. A good video on taking the alternator out is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4VgfaWNFqQ
The tool to take the pulley off is expensive; NAPA sells it for $216. the part number (AC Delco) is 91024. I have seen videos on line though with people removing it with a 17mm hex (allen key) socket instead. the part number for the pulley (Gates) is 37018P. Chrysler doesn't sell it separately! NAPA sells it for about $132. In my case I waited to long to buy the pulley and the alternator wound up biting the dust too.. so I replaced the whole thing. $306 from NAPA; remanufactured with 5 year warranty. Part # NEU 2139731.

Sounds like u are describing chassis springs on the struts or strut mounts. Have it ckd. Simple lube of springs may solve it or chassis svc.

There is but 1 chassis number for any vehicle so not sure what you are asking for here. All VIN's are located under the windscreen on the drivers side of the dash.

1. This vehicle is a unibody, meaning is has no separate frame or chassis. 2. Why would you want to separate it, if it weren't a uni? 3. Your problem is most likely a bent control arm, see an alignment shop to have it corrected.

Warning lights come on and off

You need to have delaer pull the codes from the computers on borad. It sounds like an ABS brake issue.

Autozone can pull codes for engine & trans for free, so you could try that first. Wrench light is also for brake, body & chassis, brake issues.

Location of fuel filter on 1993 geo traqcker

If your vehicle is fuel injected, new fuel filter gaskets (which should be included along with a new filter) are necessary for this procedure.
The fuel filter is designed to prevent gasoline-borne contaminants from entering the engine through the carburetor or fuel injector(s). It is important to replace the fuel filter with a new one every 30,000 miles (50,000 km) or 30 months (whichever occurs first). The fuel filter is located in front of the fuel tank on the right-hand underside of the vehicle's chassis on carbureted models.

Location of Chassis number on 1997 Wraangler

When you say 'chassis number' do you mean an identification code for the 'body'? If so, here's a quote from a manual (2003 Wrangler) :

BODY CODE PLATE
A metal body code plate is attached to the floor pan
under the drivers seat. Disengage the snaps
attaching the carpet to the floor pan to read the
information. There are seven lines of information on
the body code plate. Lines 4, 5, 6, and 7 are not used
to define service information. Information reads from
left to right, starting with line 3 in the center of the
plate to line 1 at the bottom of the plate...
