If its split open and you can cut it.. place 2 clamps and a small pipe in the split connect and tighten.. check for leaks.. if its where the hose connects to a metal fitting it may need a professional to repair..

How do you replace fuel line to nissan quest

get the new line.
bleed the old one because fuel is under pressure.
I would start under the hood, remove fitting, pull apart hoses.
run the new hose next to the old one.
connect under hood first then remove connection at gas tank.
attach hose at fuel tank. If there is an inline filter replace now will
save time since you are already under car.
Next pull old hose out and throw away.
Last push hose onto mounts from old hose. If they break use cable ties so hose stays in place.
enjoy your car.

What is the procedure for draining the gas out of the tank to change the fuel pump

ok..

  • remove the negative battery terminal
  • open the gas lid and remove the tank cover.
  • under the car , under the gas tank is a drain valve , Its like a bolt)
  • connect a running hose and let water flow under the car, (optional)
  • get a large flat container
  • remove the drain valve from the tank and let the gas run out into the container. when its almost full cover back the valve, empty the container in a gas container an then continue to drain.

easier method but most people say its unsafe,

you need a hose and a gas container,

  1. pop the hood,
  2. locate the gas filter
  3. remove the hose leading to the gas filter, put it in your hose and place the other end in the gas container (ITS LIKE YOUR extending the hose to your gas container instead of the filter.
  4. turn on the ignition and watch the gas pump out the tank to your container, (pump must be working for this to work)

Well, I think you've sorted it. Had the same problem myself, different car, the hose has either failed of become disconnected. Needs checking / replacing.

I have no hot air coming out off my heater

You need to change the heater core nothing else will help. You could try charging the heater core with water from a garden hose> Shoot water to the heater in to the 2 hoses next to ur car battery. Make sure u dont shoot water in to ur engine the heater core is inside ur car not under the hood, u just have 2 hoses going under the hood. after u see clean water coming from the heater should start working better.

How do i change the fuel filter on my 1993 subaru loyale myself?

Easy, one in hose, one out. Will be marked with arrows showing fuel direction, Philips head screw driver and some pliers. It is mounted on the driver side under the hood, just next to the strut. Slide the little silver clamps back after you loosen them, then gently grab the hose with you pliers and move it side to side to loosen. Do this gently, you do not want to puncture the hoses. There is also a clamp buckle holding the filter in it's bracket. Sometimes it is a good idea to spray some lubricant underneath to loosen them. Wear some gloves, as you will get gas on your hands. Make sure you put the new filter on just like the old one with the arrows pointing the proper direction. When you re-attach the hoses, do not overtighten. Start the car and check for leaks. Take care.

I have gas spewing under my hood on my 2005 cavalier, the fumes are bad inside the car an when the hood is lifted you can see the gas pouring all over, what could this be? an what does this normally cost to...

sounds like u either have a loose hose or a broken hose
look for hose going from gas tank to engine
check for any breaks or loose connections
if you find nothing than check carb for any leaks
if broken hose u can replace it for around $2.00 to $10.00
depending on how much hose and clamps u need
if it's not the hose then it could be carb-check bottom of carb and sides for any gas leaking out
do all this with motor turned off
once u find problem-start engine and see if u have any other leaks

Smelling gas fumes in passenger cabin. Cannot detect any smell under hood. Does it have a cabin air filter ?

There are rubber gas line hoses under the hood & after a number of years they tend to leak ever so slightly. They are under the hood to the passenger side. You may need to replace these fuel lines. There should be a cabin filter but you must take the wiper motor screen off to get at it & it is on the passenger side. Good luck!
