Question about 2003 Volvo S60

System electrical errors/faults

I have a 2003 Volvo S60. The onboard computer has shown several errors over the last two days 1. Brake failure 2. System electronics problem 3. Transmission needs attention In addition the Rev counter ,speedo and temp gauge readings go to zero. And on one occassion the car would not start. The fault codes will go if the management system is reset I took the car to my local garage and they ran a fault code check on it. The result was: 1 fault found (P00571 ISO/SAE brake switch A circuit) But the garage did not know the cause of the fault...any ideas?

You really need to see the dealer about this, your SRS system is not turned on until this problem is diagnosed and corrected, NO AIRBAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM.

Volvo V-70 drivetrain & electronics faults

I suspect you have some loose connections or shorts in the wiring harness. I've had similar strange things happen with an Olds Bravada. Various transmission shifting problems, faults, etc. that all seemed to come from the engine's computer system getting incorrect voltages and readings due to wiring faults/shorts.

I washed my Volvo s60 and it sat for 10 days with the ebrake on and now the wheel will only turn a about a 1/4 inch and the stop like something has been engaged stopping the wheel from turning any further

They metal in the brake linings have corroded and stuck to the brake drums/discs get a piece of wood and lump hammer give a good bang in the wheel nut area you may need someone in the driving seat giving a bit of gas be carefull as the come off with a jolt

Volvo XC70 I have had several computer errors

Check two items, chassey grounds by battery, transmission and starter. Also, check to make sure the alternator is providing enough voltage, should be around 14 amps. Had a similar problem with my 2002 XC70, replacing the alternator fixed it! I used the Car Talk website to find a good local mechanic vs. the stealer.

2002 Volvo S60 (T5) The break ligth warning

This has to do with the anti-lock brake system. It will be fine without it, but if you want it fixed get it done at a dealer not a shop. It will cost a lot more but the repairs will be done right and will last longer.
