Question about 1993 Buick LeSabre

Open Question

Buick Lesabre Air Conditioning

I have a Buick LeSabre 1993.
During the winter months the refrigerant gets depleted because of a small leak in the compressor and the A/C stops working but I don't use the A/C in the winter anyway. Replacing the compressor is expensive so it is cheaper just to add refrigerant come summer.

I bought a kit for re-charging the A/C this spring (Model #0C-1CS) that includes a can of R134a and charging gun with gauge. I recharged the A/C as per instructions and the pressure went up to about 35 psi
However, the A/C compressor does not kick in.
Is there something additional I need to do to make the A/C work again?

The LeSabre had the same body style up until 1999 in the rounded style. So it should fit just fine.

Your Buick LeSabre may have air shocks on the rear. Check the shocks for leakage or stains from previous leaking. If the shocks are leaking you'll need to replace the set. Don't replace only one shock-replace them both.

Which port do I recharge my ac in my 2000 buick

If you have no Refrigerant in the system, you don't put any in. It will just leak out and pollute the atmosphere.
Go to a repair shop that does A/C work and follows correct EPA standards for working on air conditioning.
You can't do that job at home without proper training and equipment.

Sounds to me like you have a leak leak somewhere. They can put a dye in the lines to find out where the leak is, Then have that fixed and get it recharged again. Its an expensive procedure though. I hope this helped

You have a vacuum leak. The climate control is hooked to the vacuum ports on the upper intake plenum. Check for leaks there.
