Question about 1997 Honda Accord

Turned key and starter turned over until battery died

I turned the key to my 97 accord v6, and the starter continuously kept turning until the battery died, even after I turned the ignition off and removed the key. Could this be the ignition or maybe even the starter? It had sat in the driveway for about three days before this happened. Could it also possibly just be the battery?

95 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6 just died wont start? starter is good, dont know if alternator or what?

If the engine will not crank, and the battery is fully charged, the only thing in play is the starter circuit. The ignition and alternator do not get involved until after the engine is started.
If the engine died and will not crank, you would need to check for voltage at the starter with the key switch in the start position.
You may need a manual with wiring diagrams to trace the circuits.

97 honda accord lx keeps dying and won't stay on. I replaced the battery, alternator and starter. It turned on but just stayed on till it drained the battery. what could it be?

have someone turn the key while you listen for the fuel pump to come on in the fuel tank. it should only come on for a few seconds if not than your fuel pump is bad.

My Honda accord 97 when turn key only goes click

You should have a Starter Relay which connects the power from the battery to the starter. Unless your battery is low, the starter is frozen, or an Antitheft device is active, the Relay must be bad.
Taking car to have the car in neutral if a manual trans or Park if an automatic trans, you can jump the power across the bad relay with a single battery cable jumper and crank the engine. If the engine turns over, you know the relay is bad.

95 camaro 3.8 v6 . was driving and car suddenly died .charged battery over night. had it tested, was good. removed starter, it too tested fine. All I get when i try to start is a click. cleaned connections...

The starter is not the issue as you say the car suddenly died. That would not be caused by a bad starter or solenoid.

You car needs the battery to be charged to continue to run. While normally the alternator or charging light would usually come on, I think it has something to do with your alternaor not keeping the charge up on the battery. Without a strong charge, there would not be enough power to turn the engine over, which would explain the starter issue.

The fact that you said the battery had been charged overnight and there wasn't enough power to turn the starter over bothers me. While someone has told you the battery is good, I would take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion. I have a feeling that the battery is at the root of the problem.

I think you may have answered your own question. I would check to see if the fuel pump is turning on when you turn the key on to the run position. You should hear a buzz sound coming from the gas tank. I would start there.

Vehicle Won't Start

The solution to this problem was simple, embarrasing and frustrating. The dome light was left on, and discharged the battery....enough to prevent the ignition from firing apparently. I did not suspect this, because the starter would turn the engine over very well, for a long time, and would do this repeatedly. In all my experience, I have never seen an engine spin that well and not start. According to the dealer, the voltage was too low for the ignition to work. While I do not know the exact threshhold where the voltage is too low to crank, I could have detected the condition by checking the voltage at the battery while cranking. It should have been significantly below 12 volts, indicating a low battery. The tow truck driver who picked it up simply used a portable battery to jump it off and cranked it with no problem. The symptom of the starter continuing to run after releasing the key is new technology with computerized controls, and is normal nowdays. You don't really notice this because the engine usually fires so quickly that it is undetectable.
