It should on the top of transmission, you need to take out the intake duct to change it, about 15 mins job. Easy.

vehicle speed sensor on the transmission, it fails and the speedometer will not work, it could affect shifting because the computer does not know the speed you are traveling

Did you change the Vehicle speed sensor or the wheel speed sensor?? The vehicle speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission..And its for the speedometer and shift pattern..If all good depending on what year, some have to be reprogrammed

Why doesnt my transmission make shifts speedomiter

First check the 10 amp fuse #1.

If fuse is good, speed sensor has failed or is disconnected. Check connection. If connection is good, replace sensor.

Sensor is mounted on transaxle output. It should have a 3-wire connector on it with one yellow, one orange, and one black wire, as shown in diagram below.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Speedometer won't work.ford dealer says no sensor in transmission.i changed the sensor in the rear diff.that didn't help.

If it doesn"t have a speedo cable it has to have a speed sensor. It is usually located on the drivers side of the transmission bolted into the tail housing. Sometimes they have a cable going to the sensor but was changed to just the sensor. Have you called a parts house like auto zone, and asked if they have a listing for a vehicle speed sensor for your vehicle> You do not have to go to the dealer all the time.By the way most speed sensors are on the outside of the trans not on the inside.Usually a 11mm wrench will remove the bolt that holds the sensor in place. Remove the bolt pull the sensor out and replace with new.

Overdrive doesn.t work may not be plugged in. How do I fix

It's probably a fuse or the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission. If you don't see any bad fuses. Change out the vehicle speed sensor. If it doesn't know how fast the car is going in relation to engine speed, it won't go into overdrive.
