Very old car, is it still stock? that means "original" as sold new?
when was the last time it was a daily driver, last week, last decade?

I have lots of friends with sammi, (i run jeeps) that not one , has
the car is still in stock condition , after 27 years.
all have :
1: new carb, old carb died, 10 years ago and was kicked to curb.
now running webers or Harley CV carb.

2: the car has a distributor. that makes it's own spark (no brain puter)

Is your sammi stock
if yes, the FSM is free. (factory sevice manual)
click sammi icon here
http://www.fixkick.com/

my other buddy, (totally restored it is )
has a 95 Suzuki G16 engine upgrade with full harness and ECU.
Extremely common this and a very very good upgrade.

The ISSUES:
will not go into gear, the 5speed m/T gear box will not shift.
this is common, the actual shift parts on all suz, 5sp fail. fast.
plastic shift parts, (easy to find and buy and fix) ask.

will move a little..?
what will move, the car, or the shift lever?
5sp lever, not the 4wd shift lever, there are 2 levers !

in the sammi forum, read about the shift sheets.
does shifter work with rear wheels off the ground,
yes, that means the clutch is stuck , or cable is snapped,
fix clutch.
if clutch works ,then its the plastics. (or vastly more, reasons,
i rebuild them... this box,)

the 5sp, (is it) loves to fail , for shift lever.
you remove the lever. and see the plastic, BS on tip, missing or cracked
here are links to sidekick 5sp ,very simular.
see parts 19 and 27 ( 19 stops noise, 27 is the show stopper)
a missing or bad, 27 , will make the shifter so sloppy , it cant shift.
see 100s like this, i get email world over about this one part.
i can send you the actual sammi page for above.

see this 5sp rebuild page.

good luck to your.

hmmmmm sounds like it needs a tuneup change the air filter so it will breathe in clean air put some fuel injector cleaner so it will clean the injectors and get more gas to the system and change the spark plugs so that you are sure that your a getting good fire beacuse a misfire will cause your vehicle to run poorly also do the oil and inspect the hoses and lines from the EGR Valve and the hose on the intake

Can not revers i give it plenty gas to move litle

valve body needs to be replaced, it is a very common problem on Saturns-you do not have to remove the transmission to replace it, and if you do it yourself it can be repaired for less than $200 total.

my car got stuck in park several times, i'm the brake lights would come on but i couldnt push the button to make my car move out of park...there's a tab on the right side at the top of the gear shifter console pop it out, stick a skrew driver down in and that should release it if that's your problem...it's a little bit of a rig, but it works, havent been stuck in park since

91 wrangler 4 wheel will not engage

Check your fluid levels, you need to verify that the transfer case has fluid in it. Also, on one of my old jeeps the lever that put it into 4 wheel drive just stuck a litle. After yanking the **** out of it and moving it back and forth, drive a litle then stop and do it all over again.. a few times. it went into 4 wheel drive. this is why you are suposed to engage your 4 wheel drive once a month and drive around the block, just to make sure it gets flid where its supose to. if it doesn't get engaged then the fluid just sits at the bottum of the transfer case and doesn't get up on the gears.
