Question about Cars & Trucks
Have 1 ton 1991 dodge van 360, it will then dies but starts back up and backfires through the carburetor/throttle body. Will sometimes run 2 days without problems then starts with problems again. Any suggestions ?

Chk. your egr valve, that it is not sticking and you got vacume to it. could be carboned up and is not working.

Ignition timing is set by the computer as long as the distributor pickup point is within reason.
It could be running too lean. One of the TBI injectors may be sticking or not working (wiring or computer problem), or fuel pressure could be low.

You want to check your timing for accuracy and then check all plug wires for burned or cracked ends. Also check the single coil tower where the coilwire connects for very small cracks. Then check the inside of the disrtibutor cap for the same small cracks. Throughout this process I'm certain you'll find the culprit. Thanks, Dana
