I would start by replacing the oil pressure sensor. If that doesn't fix the problem, replace the oil pump. Its possible that the oil ports are partially clogged. If replacing sensor and pump do not fix the problem, you may want to try to flush the engine with an approved cleaner

When driving oil pressure gauge is normal when come to stop it drops to 0 when hit gas it goes back up it don't do it all the time no lights on no noises no oil leaks I always change oil regular runs fine

Check and make sure the oil is topped up to full. It could be just a little low, which causes the idle oil pressure to be lower. That could drop it out of detection range for your sender. If it is full, you might want to check the sender itself, or have someone check it for you. For that you'll need a service manual and a multimeter.

Why is my oil pump gauge droppin low when i sit still then when i hit the gas it rises up

That means it is working. After 1993 they will only go to the middle. Your gauge is actually working properly.

Oil pressure gauge is zeroed out (0); oil is fine; engine started to knock (valve knocking). Help!! Engine was never low on oil.

Oil was check with a dipstick?then you only check its volume, here the real check you lost pressure. The oil pump supplies oil to valves to timing chain but is not the device that creates pressure, pressure is created by the cranksahft and its main bearing, if the oil pump fails then the crankshaft cannot create the needed pressure ,is the pan hit? Do not turn this on no more, youll need to get it inspected, if you run ir it will just freeze up. tow it to a repair area,

You need to have the oil pressure checked with a manual oil pressure gauge you may have a bad sending unit. If the you oil pressure is the same with the manual gauge then you have a oil pressure problem.

IT COULD BE ONE OF MANY PROBLEMS THAT CAUSE THIS
1 THE SENSOR IS BAD
2 PLUGED OIL PASSAGES IN THE ENGINE
3 BAD OR FAULTY OIL PUMP
4 ROD BEARINGS OR CAM BEARINGS EXCESIVE WARE IF YOU HAPPEN TO DO ALOT OF HARD STARTS (FLOORING THE GAS PEDDLE) THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO WEAR DOWN THE BEARINGS VERY FAST IF THE JEEP HAS OVER 130,000 MILES ON THE MOTOR THEN i WOULD LOOK AT HAVING A REBUILD DONE BEFORE THINGS GET REAL BAD IF YOUR PLAINING ON KEEPING THE JEEP FOR SOME TIME ONLY WAY TO BE SURE IS TO TAKE IT IN AND HAVE THEM DO PRESSURE TESTS ON THE MOTOR AND SEE WHAT IS GOING ON (CHECK PRICES FIRST) DEALER WILL HIT YOU AT (MY AREA) 54.00 PER HOUR YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AT ONE OF YOUR LOCAL PLACES THAT WORK ON ENGINES AND SMALL PROBLEMS

My oil pressure gage just drops to 0!!!

You need to replace the oil pressure sending unit, this is what tells your gauge what the pressure is. For future information if your oil pressure drops again and its a real failed oil pump within a few minutes you will internally damage the engine. I would get a new Oil Pressure Sending Unit. Let me know if you have any questions.... Thanks!

Oil pressure gauge 2000 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 6cyl.

It's probably the oil pressure switch. I have to replace min every 5 years or so because it does the same thing. Mine is mounted next to the filter on my '93. It's a little black thing with a plug in the end. You can get one at autozone for about $40.
